I just got a PS3 today, and I need people's ideas of what games to get, not what websites say.

So far I only have Fight Night 3, and Tiger Woods 07. I plan on getting Motorstorm and Call of Duty 3 sometime this week. Other than that, I'm hooped.

Unless you plan on playing Call of Duty 3 online, which i think is one of the best online games right now, it can get a little repetative. On the plus you get to play as canadians though.

Well, I love war games, anything WWI/II - I love. So I'm hoping on that.

Do you know anything on it - as in is it where you micromanage all your troops, or is it you just follow orders and control yourself?

I also want to go online, but I don't really know if theres additional costs and such.
This PS3, games, controllers and stuff, ate a chunk of my cheque I should have no doubt used on...you know...rent.:p

Um, Resistance maybe? I haven't really kept up with what's new on the next-gen consoles.

You still got a DS and pokemon, right? Or do you actually hate video games now?

Go here and run this:

http://folding.stanford.edu/FAQ-PS3.html

Its the only reason I want to get a PS3 at this point.

And run it on your PC too if you haven't already.

Get Resistance if you plan on playing online.

Online gaming is free for all PS3 games.

Right now I'm enjoying Motorstorm, Tiger Woods 07, and a ton of demos. Make sure to download some of them, they're worth it. Folding @ Home is cool too, like GM said. I run it overnight about once a week. Oh, and get Casino Royale and Planet Earth collection on Blu Ray if you have a good TV. That's it for me until NCAA, Madden, Hot Shots Golf 5, GTA IV, Uncharted and MGS4 come out.

*edit* Dyne, give it up already.

just follow orders, and stuff. Theres some smaller mini type game play where you activate explosives or operate machinery

I think you've pretty much driven that joke home already for quite some time now.

As a hilarious sidenote: Guess what my friend and colleague Tim posted a thread about today!

Prefer that to Typhoid's attacks on Wii and- well pretty much anything anyone else enjoyed. But really...golf...football...motorcross...there is this thing called reality. $600 to hit a virtual golf ball. Sweet.

Joke or not Dyne, give it up. It's growing old on you...I'm concerned, as a friend.

well i could have told you that

Playing golf tomorrow :) Play football all the time :) Motorcross isn't my thing, plus it would cost me far more than $600. :) You seem to have a problem with me...enjoying myself. Where have I heard that before?

Truthfully though - heart to heart: I work every day with a PS3 now, and my office is full of jokes about it. If you don't like it, fine - quit telling me to change my opinion though. We'll all laugh when I buy one. Until then, there's no need to troll me about it. Don't bother making it a personal thing.

It's a running gag between me and Phil.
As is the me badmouthing the Wii.

It really is.

Did I jokingly badmouth Stu in his thread when he got his PS3? Really not.

Idea: Get Resistance. It actually won Game Informer's Best Online Multiplayer game over CoD3 for the PS3, so you should get Resistance. I have fun playing this online too, and it's not hard to find a game with at least 30+ people in it.

I play CoD3 at my bro's on his 360 and there's not that many people playing anymore. Most like 15 people on a 24 player server. Guess it was a slow night, but in any case... Resistance is one idea to go on.

Download Full Auto 2 Battlelines Demo from PS Store, that's free and it's an online multiplayer demo.

I just bought Call of Duty 3, and havent gone online yet, but I'm totally in awe of the single player gameplay.

I know in July when I get my Ps3 I'm getting Oblivion and NCAA 2008 first. (Might get college hoops 2007 too. :o)
