My girlfriend barely drinks any water (or any other liquids). Example: yesterday it was very hot outside and we played soccer/volleyball for a few hours. She wasn't thirsty at all, while I immediately drank 0.5l and could have drank more.

She just doesn't like drinking. When she decides to have a glass of water/tea to get some liquid in, she gulps it away like it's poison.

So I was wondering if you knew if something like that could be a desease or something. Or do you think it's just a matter of preference and some people don't need 2 liters of water a day??

So she doesn't drink any liquids, not just water? Thats plain weird, and unhealthy too. She could dehydrate very easily if her preference to not drink doesn't go away.

Not only that, but as her boyfriend, you must be the most frustrated of all...

Yeah it really bothers and scares me.

When she told me yesterday that the day before she almost had 2l of liquids, she included a milkshake of 0.5l. We all know that a milkshake is basicly icecream with some milk.. I told her she probably needed more water to compensate for that (you need water to digest your food and to keep up your osmotic value).

Anyway it's scary and I just want to see if you have any advice. Yesterday she did drink some water when I asked her to do it for me. :)

uhm, I found that when i had a good job i was buying coke and drinking it alot, like, a extremely unhealthy amount, i started drinking water and now i feel a lot healthier, if she doesn't want to drink liquids, get a multivitamin that can make up for some of the stuff she misses out on and have more water fights ^^

see thats like, the complete opposite of me. I drink constantly, if I play an hour of basketball I'll drink at least 1L of water/gatorade. and then another litre within the next couple hours. once i decided to drink only water for a week...ended up drinking 11 glasses, on average, per day.

It's just a personal and mental habit not to drink liquids, just like it's a mental habit to maybe have 10 glasses of water a day.

You need water to survive, so I find it next to impossible that she doesn't drink any liquids.

The fact is, if she drinks next to nothing - whatever she will drink, will be good for her at that point.

Drinking water is one of the best things for you. It can clear up acne, rid your body of poisons, make you pee during an awkward date, let you survive, and keep you happy.

There's no set standard on what to and what not to drink. it's all subjective, drink what you want. She's alive, she doesn't like to drink - fantastic. If you don't like that about her, or are concerned, talk to her about it - not us. Hell, talk to a doctor, stage an intervention if it gets bad enough.

indeed, fluids help get the crap out of your body, personally i drink a lot of coffee, but i have been cutting back, if you really wanted to get more fluids into her try adding things like, thoughs powdered flavours, or frozen cans of juice, or, even just a little lemon to the water. Try and disguise the fact that it is actually a liquid!!! eat icecubes?

I could sneak up on her during the night and inject water straight into her stomach! Of course I need to break into her parents house...

I hate apologizing for a thread, but I just wanted to know if you knew more than I did. And my communication with her is good enough, don't worry.

The average person consumes more water than they need through various pops, coffee, and other liquids, as well as through foods. Though to exercise and not be thirsty is weird.
