By the way, how is going to school in New Orleans post-Katrina?

Well, Tulane University canceled my major because of Katrina. That was and is fun.

Imagine going to another university for the semester after Katrina because New Orleans was destroyed, and having *******s Tulane Prez Scotty Cowen telling you the whole time you were there -- don't give up on Tulane! Don't switch universities! We want and need you to come back! Stay with us and we'll be here for you next year!! And imagine doing as he asks until the end of the semester, at which point he tells you -- oops! Sorry! We're actually cutting your major, high five! At which point it's all but impossible to change to another university, or to change your plans in any major way. And then also imagine finding all of this out not from Tulane themselves -- not from major *******s Scott Cowen telling you, or anyone else at Tulane -- but finding out through reading a CNN article online about an hour before you board a plane for what was supposed to be your fun first trip to New York City. Imagine.... imagine how that felt...

Doing a year-long senior engineering project when in it's not only your last semester, but the whole department's last semester, is also fun. Fun because half of the professors, including two I really need to advise me on my project, have already left. Fun. At least I don't have to worry about not graduating.
