Iunno how many people have played this here, but I just got it a week ago.. and wow, this game suprised me a lot. @_@ It has a lot more replay value than any MGS game made in my opinion. I haven't beat it yet, but seeing that I've had it a week, that's saying a lot more than you could ever know... most MGS games I beat the second day at longest.

Iunno if any of you are big MGS fans, or have PSP.. but if you are/do you should definently get this game :)

The game itself is really hard and requires a different level of skill than other MGS games. You are limited to 4 items, and most areas simply have no places to hide (well, no easilly accessable ones). Like, for example, in MGS2 or 3, if you just kinda sit there and stare at a gaurd's movements long enough, the way around kinda pops out at you.. this isn't the case in portable ops. Quick usage of CQC and usage of the soldiers on your team are required... and you have to know how to run away and slip out of sight (when there's no other option).

Its kinda how I imagine MGS4 will be like, with the "no place to hide" talk, being sneaky just isn't an option a lot of the time. If you just play snake himself, there is no way possible you can penitrate places without touching or killing people.

The game outside the battlefield itself is really cool too. Not to spoil too much, but how the game generally goes is... you are put in a prison somewhere by someone and get torchured. Some how you get out and come to find out that the whole "base" place you're being held on was taken over by someone else, and the soldiers there don't nessicarily like the people who took over their base, so as big boss you can convert soldiers from that side to yours along the way as you try to help the soldiers regain control, and for other reasons.

When kidnapping people who have to kinda create your own self sustaining group of soldiers. People you pick up have a lot of different potential special abilities, and have full ratings on what things they can do well on the battlefield. They also have ratings for how well they can work with technical things and with healing. You can place people into the medical group, Technical unit, spy unit, or have them be on a team that will go out onto the battlefield.

The medical and tech groups over time are valueable, because they can create medical supplies and weapons. The spy untit can actually steal ammunition, and get a lot of information on areas and maps. They also give the majority of the side quests in the game, they'll send out reports saying special weapons hidden in areas, and if a prisoner is being held in a special place, they always mention it. This leads to a lot of secret characters and weapons in the game... some secret characters are very special, and you'd never think they'd show their face.

The sneaking unit, of course lead by snake, is very important too. They're the ones who actually have to go in and complete the missions, and kidnap people. selecting people for this group is a bit harder than other groups, since you want people who will blend in, and also don't want to put TOO strong of soldiers out there. Besides snake, every other person in your army (unless its a special hidden char) can die. So its best to stay cautious with your stronger people. Sometimes bringing a decoy as a soldier helps. Its nice having that one guy you can be suicidal with and planting a important bomb. Or eliminating an important person.

But anyways, I typed way too much. This game rocks, you should definently get it if you have a PSP. @_@
