It looks beautiful and I love how it takes place in space because there's no definitive right side up or upside down so Mario basically can walk, jump, fly to any surface.

Hahaha, i just read this... apparently this exchange happened just before the GDC Keynote:
“Kick his ass and take his name!” someone shouted from a few rows behind me.
“Who?” answered Reggie in mid-autograph.
“Phil Harrison, front row!” Sure enough, there was Phil Harrison, seated dead center, front row. Looks like he could show up on time for Nintendo’s keynote, but not Sony’s.
With a grin and a chuckle, Reggie replies, “Some would say we’ve already done that.”
Touchdown. The crowd goes wild.

Hahaha, yeah. Good old Reggie. It's good they made him president; he's a personable guy.

Looks pretty. I probably won't sit down with it though because it's hard for me to et into platformers that don't scrool side to side.
I mean, I didn't even really like Mario 64.
...please don't hurt me.
Anyways, the Wii has me at Smash Bros. I'm getting one of these things 100% when or before it comes out.

Wow. I thought it looked pretty bad for the first couple of seconds, but then realized how damn cool this game really is. Can't wait to try it out.

Some serious flashbacks of Super Mario 64...that's a good thing. A very good thing.

I always thought you lacked a soul... and I guess this is just proof.

Yea, this is really looking amazing, is Miyamoto directing this?
And shame on you Dylflon...thats a sad, sad statement.

I'm not sure if Miyamoto is directing anything personally anymore. He's like the guy at work who always walks around, but never seems to do anything. ;)

Same director as Super Mario Sunshine and Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, Yoshiaki Koizumi.
guess I'll be alone here then. but im disappointed in it the more i see it..
it looks graphically quite nice. but i don't like the moving from one tiny platform to the next over and over instead of having a larger area to explore.
reminds me in a way of the wind waker where theres a bunch of small islands and you have to travel the pointless gap between them. same as this.. bunch of very small 'islands' where you seem to only do one or 2 things then your off to the next one.
i miss mario64 :(
i don't think this game will be bad, in fact I'll probably still get it. but i don't like the island hopping.

Null, I assume the small planet hopping is only part of the game...like a level of small planets, and then a level of one big planet or whatever. I could be wrong but I doubt the game will just be filled with tiny planets where there are one or two enemies.
could be. and maybe not. one could assume either way. but thats all they've shown, i cant base it on what i think they may or may not do. and from what they've shown, i dont like that aspect of it.

But they showed people playing the first level of the game at E3, and it looked very similar to Bob-omb Battlefield.
well if they've showed some large levels that have exploration to em, do show if you have a link :)
all i've seen are the space ones, which that combined with its name (galaxy) lead me to believe thats the game.

Oh yeah? Get ready for this: I didn't like playing Ocarina of Time either. I don't mind watching other people play these games and I will admit that they are good games.
It's just that 3D platformers aren't my bag.

Thats crazy talk. For one thing, Ocarina of time isnt a 3D platformer. I mean, I cant understand how you could possibly dislike these games. Maybe if you didnt play them until years after their initial release, maybe I could see how you werent overwhelmed by them.

Nah, I played them pretty much around when they came out.
It's not a crime to dislike jumping puzzles and collecting a bunch of crap. Well, if it side scrolls I can deal with it. *shrug*
I don't know why I'm not inclined t oplay these games really. They just can't hold my interest. The furthest I ever got in a game of this kind was Wind Waker. But I still didn't finish that one.

I play sports, racing, RPG, strategy, FPS, traditional platformers, rhythm games, some action/adventure (GTA, Shadow of the Colossus, etc.), puzzle...
Basically everything else under the sun.
All time favorite game was an RPG for the Saturn called Dragon Force.

You like Shadow of th Colossus, but not Zelda? :p Not that I've played the first one. It might.... have more action or something.

http://media.wii.ign.com/media/748/748588/vids_1.html Check out the latest.
Mario can get a bee suit to fly short distances.
Gravity plays a big part in this game and it looks good.
There's a Boo-suit. Mario becomes a Boo with a Mario-hat, but they don't show what he can do.
I see a Yoshi-egg!
The pointer definately has a big role here, but I'm not sure if in this movie it's controlled by the same person. Mario runs around way too freely to worry about firing at enemies with the Wiimote pointer.
It looks like you can shoot items at enemies to stun them.... maybe that's a second player who's helping out. It would be nice to have your girlfriend help you out by firing away.
