So who's getting it? I played through the first game last year and enjoyed myself immensely. However, I didn't love it so much that I could avoid some of its flaws. God of War really was never meant to be a platforming game, but the developers kept trying to shoehorn jump mechanics into it. There was one segment in particular that had you jumping toward the camera that was just annoying. I don't know why they couldn't have just turned the camera around at that point so you could see where you were going.
That said, I pre-ordered God of War 2 and played through the demo. I can't say the demo makes me hopeful that the developers fixed the issues I had with the first game, but it will still be a worthwhile buy. Anybody else with me?

Why did I think this was a strategy game for PC? What game am I thinking of...
IGN gave it an excellent rating (9.7), and the game looks amazing. An action game based on Greek mythology? The second game in a three part story arc? Count me in. Though IGN says the initial play-through should only take 12 hours, which seems awfully short for $50. Looks like more of a renter.
The sex minigame is pretty messed up.

I'm not getting it. How could you possibly think a second venture into the God of War universe could ever live up to the grandeur and magnificence of the original adventure?
People are so fixed on sequels. Every story must come to an end. Learn to let things go.

Definately getting it eventually. God of War is one of the best action games of all time. I've heard they've done a good job with the camera in the sequel and focused more on puzzles than platforming.
Plus it looks INCREDIBLE. PS2 is a beast.
