Vid Card Makers

I'm getting a new card, since my motherboard and 1950xtx just won't talk to each other at all, even after patching the drivers and updating the bios. So I'm going to pick up a 8800gs.

My question is, who makes the best cards? I know they all use the same chipsets, but what is the difference in manufacturers?

as in...ATI/nvidia? :unsure: or the ton of small companies that make cards for each?

I know I need an nVidia, because my friggin Asus motherboard apparent HATES Ati. My question is in regards to the manufacturers of the cards, not the chip sets. Is there any difference between BFG, XFX, EVGA, etc.?
