You were driving through a cul-de-sac, or he was playing alone in the middle of a field?

And I have a feeling it will do that annoying thing it always does; turn to slush, re-freeze so it's lumpy ice, and get a layer of snow over it again. Repeat process until Christmas.

I remember I think 2 years ago, we had our biggest snow of the year in late November, over 6 inches I believe. This year, havent had a hint of snow yet. It was at least 60 today, and the high tomorrow is suppoused to be 62. I went shopping today in a short sleeved shirt and was very comfortable outside.

By the end of the week, the highs are suppoused to be only 30. Thats weather in the midwest for ya.

Yeah, we got about 6 inches a few weeks ago here. Been fairly nice ever since, though. I expect the temp to plummet over the next week or two and we'll promptly receive a foot of the crap.

This... snow you speak of... never in my life have I witnessed such wonders.

Does it feel fluffy like a cotton ball?

In the Bay Area we have no snow. Ever.

When I was a wee lad visiting family in California we happened upon the penguin exhibit at the San Diego Zoo. Watching the tuxedoed ones frolic in their fanciful winter wonderland, my cousin asked me if snow was indeed cold as she had overheard a schoolmate say to a coterie of credulous 1st graders, beseeching me to describe what most take for granted. I was never so deeply saddened with pity in all of my seven years of existence.

Yeah, it's funny like that. It's hard for people that live in cooler climates to imagine winter without snow. But it's even harder for people who don't to imagine a winter with it.

I went around last year when I still had my N, and fishtailing down the streets was a blast. Definitely fun. You don't need much snow to do it.

When i was 12 I went to barbadoes and was staying with my cousin, they had one fo the biggest houses on the island right in the middle and "maids" left right and center I let one of the maids see a picture of me in the snow and she asked where I got all the cotton balls...:P

GM, I suggest you invest in a snow maker machine or at the very least get a Blentec Blender and make snow with ice cubes (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzXMKeUv8MU)...and while you're at it blend some marbles in glass dust (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzXMKeUv8MU) for the hell of it. It's almost like snow...smoldering toxic snow.

When I was in Malta, we got a really heavy hail storm. The hail wasn't big, it was very small maybe more sleet-like, but it came down really thick. There was so much of it that it stuck and formed big piles of it which, if you didn't know better, looked like snow. Indeed, Malta is in the middle of the Mediterranean, so none of the Maltese have ever seen snow unless they left the island. So all day we heard from one Maltese person after another saying how it snowed.

It was fun, though. Like I said, it came down really thick, thicker than I've ever seen it before or since. And so, there was plenty enough to have hail-ball fights.....

I'll have to find the pictures I took.

EDIT: Found them.

It doesn't look much like hail in most of those, but that's because it melted so quickly. Note that it stuck and didn't melt nearly as quickly up on the balconies.
