Would you give it back?

Depends on how much it is.

If it's $30 or over, yes.
Under $30 -- mine.

I'm not sure if I should vote the first or the second one... I'd like to give it back, but I'm lazy and the person probably wouldn't remember it...

I wouldn't notice. I just grab the cash, throw it in my wallet and go. Don't count when I get back either. And even if i did notice, oh well, it's my lucky day :)

What he said... except for the second part I didn't quote, cuz if I noticed and it was more than maybe 10 bucks I'd give it back.... :sneaky:

i wouldnt normally notice... until i was walking away from the store...

one time this stupid book store over charged me buy ten dollars.. and i didnt notice... and then the next time i went there.. they undercharged me by ten dollars (there cash register was probably high on electricity or somethin.. ) and then when he gave me the extra ten dollars.. i kinda stopped for a minute.. and glanced at it.. but he noticed my hesitation.. and he was like "hey WAIT A MINUTE! give that back!" .. and i started to say "no.. but.. last time..." .. and then i realized how stupid it would sound... so i gave him back his stupid ten :(

Lets put it this way: I never check how much /i get back. Im way to lazy. I even dose off when the person counts it in front of me. If they short changed me I dont think I would notice.

Well.... We should check the change immediately, but that never happens.

This is what happened to my friend. The waitress gave him 30 bucks extra. And we didn't realize until later. So we didn't take it back.

We know. :) I'm guessing that's where Angrist got the idea for this thread from.

If I noticed I would give it back but I don't look over my money so...

Probably should though, waiters/waitresses or cashiers give less money on accident as well....

I would give back the money, even if that meant I'd have to go back. Why? Because if it happened to me I'd like for the person to do the same. Unless it was under a dollar. Most people don't care about little change. Infact, whenever I get anything less than a quarter, I throw it on the ground so someone else can pick it up.

I decided to vote on 'only if I immediately noticed'. I should bring it back even if I found out later... but I guess I'm working on that...

One day I used my pin-pass (Shooter says it's called an ATM card) to withdraw €10, and I put it in my wallet. Later I noticed there was €20 too much in it... but I didn't know how I would have to give it back... it wasn't a person who gave it, but a machine... So I kept it.

Angrist, in America, we call them ATM cards and wallets.

Women carry purses, men have wallets. :D
