...better than that boxing promo I guess. Can't help but think that in each kid's backpack is $599 cash stolen bit by bit from their parents' wallets over the course of a year.

What a joke. That kid can't even afford a haircut.

That ad was worse than the boxing one. Schmalz ahoy.

Here's another trailer for the same thing!!!

(they're each wearing backpacks.... probably to carry all the money it's going to cost them to buy the games and controllers and system)

I know you're not getting away with anything less than spending $1000 that day.

So wait I don't get it...
PS3 comes from outer space? Or is it just a very slow-moving aeroplane?

As a funny aside since so many people are making the Spiderman/Ps3 connection like Crash.

I actually do believe a full trailer for Spiderman 3 is coming out on Nov 17th w/ Casino Royale.

I love how the only* people posting in this thread are the people waiting for the Wii.

I thought the commercial was cool. It gave a level of epic-ness to it.
Then again, I dont like Nintendo, so my opinion means nothing.

I was actually looking forward to seeing the ad as I will be getting a PS3. On the other hand I was going to say how I can't wait to see Sony fans compliment the ad saying how good it is.

There is something to be said for subtlety. Particularly when you feel there's enough hype behind something that a simple reminder will reignite the frenzy. I think the commercial was good in that respect. I think a lot of people were expecting the first commercial to show a bunch of in-game video and such - hence the criticism.

What I would personally expect is a media blitz during the two weeks leading up to the release of the system. This first commercial will have gotten people talking about it and Sony probably wants to let that sit for a few weeks to make the blow-out more pronounced.

Owning a 360 has nothing to do with fanboy-ism.

I can own a truckfull of coca-cola but still love Pepsi more.

Also, you took that surprisingly personally.
Thusly proving the fanboy part.
Odd to me; people may (for some reason) get offended by the preferance of brand loyalty.

If I called your mother fat, that may be a different story.
But saying you like Nintendo...really? Really? :p ;)

I think it was more the tone of the post that put peoples backs up. There is nothing wrong with liking Nintendo, and yet you look at a situation like this where mostly Nintendo fans are posting replies to a Sony thread and imply that you could somehow squeeze some greater meaning out of it. Like it really says something about Nintendo fans - and I think the fact that you make posts like these time and time again says more about you than it does about us.

But regardless, it's the same anywhere you go. If there's a large ratio of one demographic and something different is released into the masses, they're bound to talk about it. So I guess I really don't know where you're going with your post aside from trolling.

You mean the fact I dont let stupid things such as brand loyalty get to me other than in a joking manor?

The fact I treat the internet as just that; the internet, and not real life?

The fact I am very lenient and dont get uppity over things that dont need to get "uppity" over?

The fact I joke around a lot.

The fact I'm never serious.

Pick one, dispute it. Try cut me down.
Do as you please.
But god, oh god, just dont call me a fanboy.
It will ruin my week.

(See that, that was a sarcastic joke. I shall start labelling things.)
(see above? That was patronizing joke.)
(*repeat cycle*)

Sony is marketing the premiere of its console as being parallel to the abduction of children.

Wow, the localization department for American promotion and marketing really ****ed up this time.

is the next part going to open up a big superweapon, and blow away all the little kiddies?
