Enterbrain, the publisher of Famitsu, has conducted a survey with videogame retailers, post TGS:

1. Which next generation console will sell better after the holiday business?

88% - Wii
11% - PS3


2. Which will sell the most during the holidays, taking into account all the consoles available?

60.7% - Nintendo DS
32.8% - Wii
3.3% - PS2
1.6% - PS3
1.6% - Xbox 360

Kind of surprized by the PS3 predicted to be as low as the 360.

I think this has more to do with shipment numbers than anything...but in any case, PS3 is pretty much expected to bomb from the sounds of it.

How did they predict that and distribute units accordingly?

Hasn't the Playstation brand always done better in Japan? This puts more stress on North America than before.

Sony and Nintendo havent made sense in terms of shipments this time around. Because Nintendo is releasin in hte US first instead of doing US and Japan at the same time. Grated, they know Japan will gobble up hte Wii but why wait to do so >.>

We got DS first as well. But releasing Wii a little before Japan is the least they can do for making us wait so long for Pokemon which everyone in Japan will be playing to tide them over.
