I had a couple weird dreams last night.

One was there was a competition to add attractions to an existing amusement park but nobody had the means to do so.

And secondly, I had one where I was some sort of leader of a floor at university residence and everyone looked up to me but I couldn't remember their names.

Does anyone else want to talk about dreams?

Well the first dream clearly means you are trying to add some type of excitement to your life. As you feel it is exciting but controlled.

You need something new and different.

The second one means you fear becoming powerful and being isolated.

Simple dream logic. :p

Doing a lucid dream project for one of my classes so I've been writing down recent ones.

Overall scope of one night:

Samurais attacking a tall house working their way upward trying to get at me and my family who are asleep. Somehow they are defeated. Then I'm in a schoolyard playing basketball with the Fresh Prince of Bel Air...or was it just Will Smith? Anyway he goes off to talk with his manager named Eddie who has a tattoo of a star near his eye. Then Penguin and I get off a train at Shea Stadium but it looks like a wooded park. We run into some old teacher of mine in the rain. Kinda odd since I never have dreams with family or friends in them usually.

Last night I had one involving Pokemon but I didn't write it down nor remember it clearly.

Haven't had any lucid dreams in a while. Have to practice for this project, though I only manage to get in a few hours of sleep every other night.

Every time I find myself analyzing my dreams, I start making **** up. I see my dreams as more photographic complexities.

I had a dream where I set off some kind of toxic gas in the school....My dream said it was mustard gas. And I killed a bunch of people, including my best friend....

Then there was something about me and his sister...and then I wandered down a hill a hitched a ride with people. There were three girls in the car. For some reason I was in the front seat. THen we started talking about....I think it was something psychic or other...and then the girl behind me kissed me and the others were trying to do the psychic thing....which now just sounds like a drug thing.....

"The program is called Lucille.

This is a program that pops up random messages (it has a preloaded list and you can add your own) at whatever intervals you choose (i.e. between 3-30 minutes or every 3 minutes, choosing the numbers yourself). The messages are all things intended to get you thinking about reality, like turning on and off a lightswitch to see if anything changes, or looking at the time and then looking again.

It helps people lucid dream who are at a computer a fair amount, because when you dream, if you're used to constantly questioning reality when awake, it'll seep into your dreams. I know that I've had at least once lucid dream directly because of this, with no prior efforts put into attaining a lucid dream. Give it a try and download it, it's got no spyware, it's ridiculously small, and so simple."

"Here's a .rar of the two trance induction tracks from the CD that accompanies the book 'Lucid Dreaming' by Stephen LaBerge. The two tracks are:

05 Trance Induction (Day)
06 Trance Induction (Night)

There's one to listen to at any time during the day, and the other to listen to when you've gone to bed, just before you sleep. They take you through a set of imagery and auto-suggestion designed to help you have a lucid dream. I've had a lot of success using these."

I'm actually doing a fim project right now where my goal is to try and create what someone's dream might look like. If any of you would like to volunteer just post a comprehensive list of things going on in your life, things worrying you, important upcoming events, general feelings about things in your life and what you did yesterday, and what you're doing today and tomorrow.

This morning I had a weird dream.

It started out as some kind of school trip for adults. We had to swim in a river or lake and I hated feeling the stuff I couldn't see on the bottom. Then we came to an abandoned village. The way to get into it was swimming through the river. I saw some gross stuff floating in it. But that wasn't the interesting stuff.
The village had turned undead. We killed some big and dangerous zombies (1 with the use of a pool table, balls and cues). In the end we came upon a survived mother and child. They had always just assumed the whole world was infected, while it was only their village.

Wow, old thread. I was going to reply and then saw I already did three years ago.

Been writing down my dreams almost every single night since then. Don't think I've had any lucid dreams since then either...but they're all highly entertaining so I don't mind. Beats television.

I rarely remember my dreams, but I recently had a vivid one where Uma Thurman was my wife and we were at a Psychologist's office. Uma was crying uncontrollably and the psychologist was an ex-girlfirend from college that burned me pretty bad. It fucked me up for almost a week.

Last night I had a dream that Robert Smith (of The Cure) was constantly jaywalking back and forth across a street, and I sat there watching him for a few minutes before I decided to do the same... Just as a cop car pulled up and busted me for jaywalking.

The cop's face was a stranger to me, but he clearly wore the same clothes and acted like a good friend of mine. He took me to an abandon building where we sat around talking (which is when I established the fact that he acted just like my friend), then next thing I remember we were caught up in some sort of Billy Mays-endorsed (he was there in the flesh, back from the dead!) fishing scheme where we'd catch these weird fish (that looked more like stingrays), chop off their head and ship them to a place for that would then send us money.
But then I found out that the cost to ship them to the place was more than the amount we'd be reimbursed... So I decided to wake up.

It was the most vivid and easiest-to-remember dream I've had in awhile ;o

Hmm, looking over my dreams. Here's the first one from 2009:

I'm living in a loft with a roommate and we're not getting along. When I try to leave the building our downstairs neighbor suggests I room with him instead. I say I'll think about it. Sign near door says "Death by Rain". Think I'm just going to take a harmless look out the windowed doors but the streets are all flooded and it quickly reaches the the door and seeps under. I turn and tell everyone to run. We flee the oncoming water. The doorman (Morgan Freeman) slips on the incline we're running up. Me and my roommate go back to help him. We do and we all keep running. I was lucky roomed with roomie afterall since our place had safe high ground to escape to.

Dream then shifts to something with How I Met Your Mother with a fight between Ted and Marshall over a sandwich on a snowy cliff.

All narrated by Morgan Freeman of course. :)

Last night I had a dream I was overlooking an interactive map (sort of like gameplay from Valkyria Chronicles) of a hilled area trying to find the fastest way to god knows where, when suddenly I was climbing a small incline in a rapidly increasing snowstorm. The snow got up to my neck, and I could feel the cold. Then an asain girl with an unpronouncable name was 10 feet in front of me with a blue minivan, so I curled up inside it. She drove us down to a suburban townhouse complex, to which I said "I know who used to live there" and she said "me too."

Then I don't remember.
enthralling.

The night before last I dreamed that I got into a toy store and they had original Jurassic Park dinosaur action figures. I was so excited, because I didn't have some of them yet and they weren't expensive. There were a few I already had an I wasn't sure if I should buy them.

The weird thing is... I dream the same thing so often. This must be the 10th time that I remember, the first dreams go back maybe 10 years.
And this time I only remembered because something made me think of Jurassic Park. So who knows how often I dream about finding Jurassic Park toys and I don't remember it??

And Typhoid, that sounds like a cool dream.

No, my dreams all suck - because I actually can actually feel the pain that I'm feeling in the dream, and when I wake up, I vividly remember how it felt, though never experiencing it. Like I was looking back on a memory, that type of thing.

I've been shot in my dreams before, and that was the scariest thing ever - because I remember how it felt, I could taste iron, the hollow yet numb feeling in the place I got shot, my vision faded slowly, my hearing deafened out, and my heartbeat got louder and louder. Then again I was probably just having a seizure.:lolz:

Has it ever inspired you to write stories?

I like those things where you're almost asleep and you dream that you fall. You wake up kicking vividly. Your body thinks the stuff in your mind is real...

You should start a dream blog. I've debated taking notes on my dreams but I'm an apathetic son of a bitch. Usually if I don't take mental note or write it down I forget my dream within 5 minutes of being awake. I'd read if you posted a dream blog.

I debated posting this in Ric's thread but I think this is more appropriate. Has anyone just drifted off into sleep and had a dream where they are falling into ice or stepping in a hole, and then you actually kick your leg like you are falling and wake up? I don't know what this particular phenomenon is because when you fall asleep your body turns off your muscle control so you don't move/hurt yourself in sleep. But it only happens when I fall into a dream right when I'm falling asleep.

Yeah I have that sometimes (I think I posted about it in the last few days?). It's weird how the mind works...

A while ago I knew that I was in that stage between being awake and sleeping. I dreamed/thought that somebody hit me in the face. I shook awake from the hit. I was amazed that my body reacted to that even though I realized that it was just my thoughts.

Hmm. Maybe. A lot of mine are so personal they'd be boring to most everyone else. Also I remember my dreams so well that I'll put off getting out of bed just so they become hazier and I'll only have to write down the gist of the dream. If I remember something I feel like I'm forced to write it down, and some of these go on and on and on.

Here's a short one from last night with everyone's favorite penguin:

I'm with With Penguin at some comic book sale, but in order to get the books as cheap as we're getting them we had to enter a portal into another dimension into a Spanish classroom full of young kids and take a Spanish test. I didn't even attempt to take the test. Just drew a picture of a dragon on it. The teacher was nice enough about it. I told some of the students about how to get comics too. We leave back through the portal in the wall. Scene shift and I get a long flimsy MetroCard from my dad. I can't stick it in my pocket without crumpling though. I keep just missing the bus home.

Great dream. :D

Tonight I had one of those personal boring ones. I saw my ex in a very weird room. It was some kind of ballroom with seats near the wall, but the whole room was changing shape all the time. Round, oval, square, it almost was like a amusement park attraction. A couple of ballet dancers in the middle, but at the same time it was a conference with speeches etc.
I was there with a girl who wasn't my gf (and I didn't want her to be), we entered the room late. Everybody saw us. After a while I noticed my ex's family, and then my ex. She had matured (I think she's 28 now).

Then I continued to dream about fighting a big dragon in a World of Warcraft dungeon. I was the only one of the raid who wasn't afraid to fight it, which meant I didn't get any healing, and I had to run away all the time.

Ok I had 3 quite weird dreams, one is worth sharing because it would be a nice script for a movie.

I was in prison for a murder I did not commit. It wasn't an ordinary prison though, which was shown by the fact that they locked me up in the room of the guy they thought I had killed. It was an old fashioned living room with a bed, chair, desk. It has his music, his books, his pictures on the wall.
It started to freak me out. It was haunting me. And I hadn't even committed the murder!
But I knew who had. He was living in the same prison, close to my cell/room. Sometimes I saw him when I looked out of the small window. Nobody believed me of course. I had a female shrink visit me. In the beginning of my time I had made fun of her, pretending to be mad/emotional. Now that I was really starting to lose it, she didn't believe me. At first. Until she started to listen tot he sick music the murdered guy had on tapes. It even freaked her out. She realized that wasn't healthy.
Then it got even weirder. In my mind I could go back to when I was a child, when the room wasn't a prison yet. I could leave the room and search for the real killer. There were more weird things I could do, which usually involved leaving the room, maybe even seeing the victim when he was still alive (don't remember exactly).
Then when the shrink was visiting me, I suddenly saw my mind-selfs leave the room. I saw them, as other versions of me, walking about. Me in different timelines. The shrink of course didn't see them. That really really scared me. I wondered if I was ever going to solve it.
I don't remember how it ended. I think I woke up and thought about how it felt like movies as Donnie Darko, Identity, The Butterfly Effect, The Jacket. I think 'rubber reality' is the correct term.

I've had terrible insomnia for the past few weeks, can't really sleep until 8am, and when I do sleep, my dreams are amazingly disturbing and overly stressful.

The dream I had last night was me and Dylflon's brother were in my basement watching TV, there was an annoyingly tinged light on, and 8 feet of snow outside. We couldn't leave the room because there was a zombie infestation and the local militia was going around shooting machine guns indiscriminately. Then it morphed into my hockey team hanging out in my basement, and I broke a skate. Zombie attack still loomed.

God damn zombies.

Haha, perhaps you do spend too much time here...but on the other hand that is a very flattering dream. :p

I've had some weird dreams the past few days, but I lost one of them because I didn't write it down. The other one involved a tower that I had to climb and it was quite vivid....I've decided I want to start documenting my dreams and my childhood memories. I get a lot of random childhood memories that just come and go and I forget about them. I figure I should document them while I can find them.

The question is do I want to document this in a real notebook or on my google blogspot?

I dreamed I was on some kind of date program. Basically it was just about forming groups of young people who got to spend time together. But some of them took it very seriously, talking about how I wasn't to come close to a certain girl because she had their interest. And one guy told me how lucky I was that I was grouped with a particular girl (and not with 2 others).
I just wanted to have a good time and get to know all of those people.

I dreamed Nintendo announced a new Metroid game, which came with some kind of Virtual Reality accessoire. You could make your own games, play funny mini-games... And it came packed with Metroid Prime Trilogy.

In other news: there's a rumor that Nintendo will show a Zelda trailer at the Nintendo Business Media Summit early October. I don't think I dreamed that...

I've been having recurring Elevator dreams.

10/9/09
I had a dream where I was trying to get to the 10th floor of a building. I stepped into the buildings elevator, along with several girls. As we began to ascend in the elevator you could see all the floors as we passed. The floors were much larger than one story, in fact several stories seperated each floor. The elevator also moved much faster than it should have been. As we approached the 10th floor something happened and the elevator began to fall down suddenly. As the elevator began to fall I could see each floor pass by, only faster and faster. Then the elevator began to move horizontally as well as vertically. At this point someone inside the elevator pushes the "stop" button and we get stopped on a library floor. We hurry to exit the elevator where a black man informs us that we were lucky to get out of there. That is all I can recall, and then my alarm goes off.

My dream journal has made me notice several things. One, it is difficult to recall dreams unless I write them down right away. This is problematic for several reasons, the biggest being that I am a lazy ass. The second reason is that I notice I often have several dreams in a night, especially if I wake up in the middle of the night. Do I want to role out of bed at 3am to type up a dream? Maybe I need a paper journal and a nightlight.

The second thing I have noticed is that I cannot jot down my thoughts for shit after waking up. My just-woken cognition and ability to punctuate is on par with my drunk self. This is problematic as I review my journal entries. I'm not cleaning them up or editing them for sake of honesty and good academic practice, but still...

All you need is pen and paper. No light. Just write down some words of the dream, and you'll remember 90% of it when you wake up.

At least that's my experience.

(Just for shits)

So I had a dream last night that I found ever confusing.

So me and my brother were hanging out at my ex's house, playing indoor basketball, while she sat on a couch behind us. She then gave us some type of fruit, or tea - I forget. We ate or drank it. Then her dad walks in and yells "What the fuck", and sits on the couch. Then (in my dream) I black out, and wake up in the back of a van with 3 other people (Who my mind created on its own). It's established we got in the van from a heavy night of drinking, despite there being no signs of it. 2 of the people magically vanish, and me and one of the guys drive around for the remainder of the dream trying to figure out what the fuck happened that night. We retrace steps to a restaurant where I get my jacket back, and the waitress tells us we had a huge party there. We then proceed to drive up a long and windy onramp (much too long, much too windy), and end up in some type of amusement park where a guard got mad at us, whilst he held a sign that says "I assume these two carry litter." Magically the guy I'm with has a microphone and everything he says is going out over the amusement park loudspeakers, but he's talking jibberish - so that's okay. Then after fleeing the wiley coyote-esque secreity guard, we end up in a parking lot filled with motorcycles and bicycles which seems increasingly harder to navigate as time goes on. We then proceed to drive down a series of roads that we either aren't supposed to be on, or are all dead ends blocked by 1 foot barricades that we constantly have to get out and move. Then I wake up.

Good dream.

Nicely done.

I haven't been keeping up with recording my dreams as much as I used to since they've taken a not so nice turn. My last few revolved around covering up a murder I committed, running from crazed druggies and flushing myself down a toilet to escape, trapped in my room due to a zombie attack, and running from the cops for a crime I didn't commit...
