Gigantour, a metal festival similar to Ozzfest, had its first run last year. I attended the concert, as it had headlined Megadeth and Dream Theater. Also on the lineup last year were two of my new favorites: Nevermore and Symphony X.
Well, Gigantour is back and with a new lineup:
Megadeth, Lamb of God, Opeth, Arch Enemy (first stage)
Overkill, Into Eternity, Sanctity, The Smashup (second stage)
I'm definately interested in seeing Megadeth again and Arch Enemy for a first time. Into Eternity, a Canadian Progressive-Death Metal (with leanings more toward Progressive; a Dream Theater sound, specifically) and Sanctity, a fun speed/thrash metal both are two new hopefulls that I look forward to.
Tickets average $40. My tickets, which are in a seated pavilion, are about $50, which includes ticketmaster fees. Overall, eight bands (several of which are high profile) for $40 or $50 is quite great.
Has anyone else heard about the concert? Did you see last years, and are you planning on seeing this years? If so, where at?
I'm hitting Detroit with four others. Wooh.
