I think a while back someone posted about a free server for Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst?!

If someone could link me to that or whatever it would be muchly appreciated.

Side note:
The real thing's not that expensive, has a large userbase, and is worth the $8.99.

Except Blue Burst isn't really worth it in the end.

also, http://www.psocheats.net

It works for Gamecube too.

Dyne, you're right and PSO isn't really worth it in the end. Also, that link doesn't work.

Seeing as how Blue Burst is downloaded, rather than bought off the shelves, Sega would receive no money from gamers who were to play the game of an unofficial server. Posting a link to an unofficial server would be akin to posting a link to roms.

Roms are legal, but only under the condition that the possessor of the ROM owns an official copy of the game. I'd assume a similar law would apply to MMORPGs and other games that require an account to play online. That is, to play on an unofficial server, one would require an official account as well. That, at least, would explain why the site you had linked is down.

As I said, since the game is free, it's very worth the price of $9 per month, assuming you enjoy the game. If you don't enjoy a game enough to even pay to purchase the game (which would equal about half a year of game time), then why would you waste your time on the game even if it was free? Would it be as a free trial? I believe BB can be played offline, which is trial enough.

I'm interested to see the admin set more examples and post links to emulation sites, rom archives, and torrent files for films and games.

Just thought I'd spice things up :p

Psst, don't tell anyone. But I like roms.

First off I played Episode 1 and 2 offline and online for like 2 years. So I did give sega money, I did pay for the game. A LOT! I realize there are now plenty of free PSO servers that would probably allow me to do things like power-level and item-quest quickly. This is what I'm looking for because I've been there, I've done that. It's a game that has a lot of faults and I'm definitely not looking to pay for it again. Did you ever play through a game to a high level and then have some jerk eradicate your character through a gameshark?! Didn't think so. So far BB hasn't had any problems but give it some time. So I'm looking for a free server. If anyone wants to PM it to me, ok. If you would like to PM me rom sites, bit torrent sites, or any other illegal sites, Please do.

Yes. But that was on Gamecube. My friend had worse luck with that sort of thing, though. He'd get up to like lvl 150 before the wipe; I was only at 90.

I don't play Blue Burst, but my friend does. He's enjoying it. He plays PSO a lot, and he did on the cube, especially before he was online. He tells me he enjoys online, that it's a different experience than offline. However, I can understand why he stopped playing online on the GameCube after being wiped.

If I was interested in playing BB, I'd probably pay to play because it'd put me in the same server as my friend. However, if he was not and I was still wanting to play it, sure, I would look at cheaper alternatives. I've just never known a forum to share such "alternatives"; usually the posters of such sites are warned/booted/banned/suspended to protect the interest of the forum.

who are you?!
You probably fail at Clue.
But I'll be nice and give you a hint (http://www.gametavern.net/forums/showthread.php?t=15462&page=4&pp=15).
