Who has seen it and what were your thoughts?
I know the critics have been somewhat harsh on this movie, but I think it was very good for the second movie in a trilogy. Keira Knightley is very hot as well.

I hope you stayed for the secret bonus scene after the credits.
I've seen it.
It was insane over the weekend. We had thousands of people come to watch it. And for the four midnight showings, everyone was dressed like pirates. Among them were some very elaborate and accurate Jack Sparrow costumes.

It was awesome. Johnny Depp is a good pirate, I think he should retire from acting and just become a pirate. That chick is HOT AS HELL too. Anyway...I was captivated by it. Just a bit irritated that it ended though, but I guess that proves that it was an entertaining film. It had a lot of cool action shots, I reallly liked the wheel part and its camera angles. I say go see it.

Loved it.
I actually liked the ending. Got me really excited for the next one.
What were these secret scenes at the end?
i enjoyed it. i did agree with the critics tho that it was too long. there was a couple times in there i signed and looked at my watch.
roger ebert said, they shoulda spent a little more time editing, and cut down some of the action sequences, made the overall movie a bit shorter, and that woulda made the action sceens stand out much more.
I fully agree with that.
but thats really my only complaint with it. overall i liked it. not as much as the first. but it makes the 3rd worth watching.

There's just one very short scene. Remember that dog from the island of the crazy "I will worship and eat you people"? You know, the dog that was chased once Jack Sparrow got back on the Black Pearl? It shows him being the new chief of the tribe. That's all.

I liked it a lot, and thats saying something considering what a complete mess that movie could have been. To borrow a line from Harry at AICN, its like Gore Verbinski directed this movie on a dare. It is so filled woth plot twists and action that the movie could have easily degenerated into a crapfest. Instead it remained a fun movie that was just as enteraining as the original, if not as good of a "film"
As I was watching it, I wished that they would have split it into 2 movies, but once you-know-who pops up at the end I could see why they wanted to keep this as one film. Still, I would have sat through another 30 minutes to allow for better pacing. Hopefully they'll have a directors cut on DVD.
BTW, the Transformers teaser trailer was showing before Pirates in my theater, and the crowd went NUTS for it. The odd part to me was that Transformers were from my generation (I'm 29) and kids half my age were crazy for it. I know the toy line has continued, but kets be honest... its just NOT the same.

I'll be the first to go on record here stating I did NOT like it. I was never a HUGE fan of the first one to begin with, like some people, but I did enjoy it. Cant say the same with this one. It just didnt hold my interest. As for recent movies, I enjoyed Superman and MI3 MUCH more.

Ewww, movies.
We can't tango if you liked Superman more than Johnny Depp, being a pirate.

I liked the movie a lot. I went with people that didn't like it so much. However, those people also didn't like the 1st one that much, so there isn't much to say about it. I liked the first one a lot and this one is a lot more of that good stuff from the original, so I don't take those negative reviews seriously unless the person actually liked the original and likes Johnny Depp's acting style as a pirate. He is great as Jack Sparrow and I was totally entertained the whole movie, but by the end, I was also glancing at the watch here and there.

i think the obvious moral to the story is Johnny Depp needs to quit acting and become a pirate.
I loved the first one...but not this one so much. I'm not saying it was bad...it just didn't feel quite as fun. I was getting restless in my seat. As many people have said...I found it to be too long.
And there was no Keith Richards yet....so I was bummed out

As in the old guy from that one band that my dad listens too?
No way, tell me he's in the 3rd movie and that will be golden.

I would've liked them to elaborate on davy jones' crew a bit more and how/why they transform that way.
I also heard the keith richards wnats to fall out of a tree in the movie, like he did recently on his vacation which resulted in surgery.
I've seen it twice now. I really liked it a lot.
The only thing I could've asked for is more eyepatches. But hey, there was plenty of tricorns instead.
