Whats the best recommended way to wipe any smudge marks or anything else of an oddity off an iPod? Just curious since I got one last night (nano) and one of the cases I bought smudged it up a little so I'm gonna return the case today and I've used my shirt to wipe off the more visible parts.

Preferably a lintless one. You could even dampen it just be cautious.

In regard to your case thing, my friend used vinyl for his Ipod video. He just went down to walmart, bought a sheet of clear vinyl, and patched his ipod up. It's a slick way to keep it scratchless, it's clear, cheaper than any case you'll buy, and works wonders. I'm not sure how or why it sticks, so I can inquire on that. I think he used water and soap and rubbing alcohol, I'll see what you do....

I'll look for something like that the next time i have spending money. I have a good leather case I like. It has a flip phone'ish look (cover that flips over). It sits inside the little pouch thing and I can scroll/click around fine still. Plus, it makes it easy to conceal since you dont even know its a nano until you open it :p

That thing scratches way too easily. I've given up on mine as it seems too late to try to get it spotless. Get a case early and your Nano may still look okay later on. The front scratches and the back scratches. Its kind of lame as I would expect it to hold up better. I barely use mine and its beat up.

Oh yeah. When I went to buy one, I immediately bought 2 diff cases depending on what I was doing. But the 2nd case was smudging the nano so I returned it for a refund. But the other case I have has worked perfectly so far. Except sometimes the plastic front makes the scroll thingy on it go a little nuts so I have to power off nano and then back on and its fine again

Yea, its fairly common knowledge that the Nano is crap. My brother has one, it allready broke on him once luckily it was still under warranty. My mini on the other hand super tough and still going strong, although the battery seems to not last as long as Id like...

I havent had many issues yet (the horrible horrible ear covers that ipod gives are the worst I've ever been around..I dont understand how they continue to produce crap holding earbud covers). Only the one but I think its related to the plastic over the scroll wheel and the wheel thingy getting confused a lil.

But soon enough ill upgrade when the new gen of ipods come out...
