Maybe I'm just so into soccer because I'm really good at it.
Anyways, World Cup. Who watches it, who just brushes off the recaps?
Who do you want to win, who do you think will win?
Who do you hate?
Slander away!
Anyways, I'm obliged to want England to win, because if I dont, my brother-in-law (who's English, duh) will skin me alive. Other than that, I want Serbia & Montenegro to win, just because it's not a country anymore. So I think it would be awesome to see them try decide which country won it, because they split up after qualifying for the world Cup.
I don't watch, but a coworker of mine took off work on Friday to watch it. He's from Mexico so he's a big Mexico fan naturally.

My 2 teams I am supporting are Australia and Italy. Should be interesting how Australia goes.
Are there any German members on GT? God your country must be going off right now!

Sweden actually has a few good players. I was talking to my dad about some of the teams, and since he is really into the European and English leagues, he was telling me about all of the players from the English league teams that are on the different teams in the world cup. Apparently Sweden has a really good Striker, but that's all I remember at the moment.

Ha, no, I know. They're not bad.
I think it's a joke how the US is ranked 4th in the world. They're not even close. It's because Fifa has a stupid way of ranking. They determine by games played in your area, and win percentage, or something. So obviously The US doesnt have much competition, considering it's really just Canada, Mexico, and some Island countries.
Thank god fifa recognized this and is changing the rule next year.

I was referring to Larsson then. I also knew that there was a player on Sweden from Arsenal, because that's my dad's favorite British club team.
And thanks for clearing up Typhoid's joke, if that is infact what what he was referring to.
I also have another comment about the World Cup. I kind of hate how safe they play it. It's almost as if they are more worried about losing than they are about winning. It's probably because of all the **** that might go down when they return to their countries after losing. I wish that they would go out a little bit more and stop playing it SO safe.

I say Turkey should be in there more than the US. 4th place my ass.
I dont think it would have been more than 3, because someone would probably point a finger and say it's poor sportsmanship for running up the score. I've never seen a problem with that though. You're on the field to do your best at all times, for the full 90. So why would you let up because you're winning 9-1 or something?
And right now I'm waiting for the Brazil/Croatia game. I've always liked Croatia; For no other reason than their jerseys are frickin' awesome. But I think Brazil's going to feed them their own asses.
PS. Is it just me, or does Ronaldinho look like a lizard?

I don't think anybody tells teams to stop scoring. In the end, when two teams have the same points, it's all down to goal difference. If your able to score 10, then you should.

USA is ranked 4th in the world. Fifa noticed this and is changing the ranking policy next year.
And I've had/heard of coaches saying, for sportsmanship reasons, not to runthe score up because it makes your team seem like a bunch of *******s.
And I think you should watch the second half, it's a good game, and the first is over in 10.

He didnt kick him on purpose, you can tell by the replay, it was accidental, if anything, not blatently obvious.
And the the push on Ronaldo wasnt enough to merrit a Red either.
I'm assuming he MUST have told the ref to **** off, thats the only way I can see him getting a red.

I hope France wins it. Partially being sort of french, and because it;s Zidane's last World Cup.
Also, at the bar after the England game, my dads British friend said:
"Imagine Italy and Portugal in the final. The King's and Princes of diving. The whistle blows, the ball is kicked 5 feel foreward, and immediately upon contact of the ball, 20 men immediately drop to thr ground holding random appendages writhing in agony. The ref gives out seven cards. The cycle repeats itself until the goalies are forced to pass th ball back and forth."

Well, the thing I've discovered about Football/Soccer is that EVERYONE DIVES. You can't pinpoint in on one team. In every single game I've watched somebody on both teams has taken a clear dive. It probably happens once every ten minutes. Possibly some teams do it more than others, but every team dives, even England and Germany.

for you maybe. Italy played very well against Germany. Very exciting game.
Germany played well also. I predict France will go through , but Portugal shouldn't be underestimated

That all depends on how much theatrics and crying Ronaldo plans on doing.

Well France won today. This situation kind of sucks. For the Drake tribe to win, Italy has to win the final match, but I'd rather see France win for some reason.

I really hope france doesnt give up halfway through the game, and Italy doesnt switch sides. ;)

It will be a great game. Both teams will play for the kill, i don't think they will play so safe as it's the final. They'll want goals. Then again that may be their tactic to play safe i'm not sure. No doubt they are both strong teams and we will see who is the world champion

Italy usually play defensively, and France like to play offensively. I think it'll be like this in the final as well, and we'll see France attacking more, and Italy looking for counter-attack chances (which they do very well, btw).
It'll be exciting, however the teams play.

It really sucks that so many teams play it safe, because it seems like the sport could be much more exciting. I guess they're all just too worried about what happens when they head home after losing.

he's the reason France lost. A disgrace to the game, he will be pitied by the entire French nation. I'd be embarrassed to be supporting Zidane.
Who cares. Italy are the world champions. I've waited for this day for a very long time. May the best team win.....Italy won.
BUFFON!!!!!!! Brilliant save of Zidanes header
I liked what Zidane did. He at least went out with a bang. This way he'll be remembered by all.
Congratulations to Italy, btw. I thought France would've won, but Italy look good as champions.

Apparently Matarazzi said a racist comment to him. It's unconfirmed tho. **** I gotta go work.
