I've been considering getting component cables for the gamecube because we just got an LCD rear projection tv. Yes I know that they're discontinued, but it possible to get them on ebay. I was just wondering if you guys think that the games will look much better with component cable? I'm not sure if Nintendo made the games so that they would look much better with component because I noticed how they took the component feature off. I also looked on ebay for them..and they're going for expensive prices. Maybe it would be a stupid idea considering that the Wii is coming out later this year and I probably won't be playing my gamecube as much.

How was your first year of college?
It'll look better, but damn if it isn't expensive.
The cheapest I found was $49 for japanese cables. I can link you if you want. They're the same as the American ones.

If you could send me the link that would be cool.
Gamemaster: First year of college was an interesting experience. I had a tough schedule though, being a freshman engineering student.
Anyway, component cables..yay back on topic I guess..

I was pretty sure Nintendo still sold them on their website, or at least last I checked they still did.

No. They discontinued it a while ago.

It doesn't have the price for the cables..are you sure it's only $49? I trust that it is, I just want to be completely sure.

Not to derail your thread, but how was engineering? What branch? And how tough was the first year? I got computer engineering coming up.

Holy christ, sorry about that! They ran out of stock from the time I saw it to the time you clicked my link. Sorry about that.
Yeah, they were having a bit of a sale. I got Giftpia for $20 and Nintendo Puzzle Collection and Mr. Driller: Drill Land. :D And the freeloader was only $15. :D

It's all right Dyne. I'll just keep on looking.

I'm going into Civil and Environmental Engineering, or at least that's the whole title at the University of Pittsburgh. I'm not going to focus as much on environmental engineering. I'm thinking about working with big structures such as bridges, buildings, dams, tunnels, etc..and yes the first year was tough because it consisted of Calc 1 and 2, Physics 1 and 2, Chem 1 and 2, and then Programming 1 and 2. I'm good at all of those, but all at once can be very rough. I don't know what the curriculum will be like for you, but you might not have a freshman engineering program at your school. Pitt has one year where you take all of those classes and then you enter your field.

I'll have Calc 1 and 2, Physics 1, Chem 1 and 2, and some other gen ed classes like English. It'll probably be easier than what you have, and I might actually be in remedial chemistry for my first semester as I never really took a real chem class in my life. Good times I say. Sounds like fun, you'll be making good money in the end.
Check the link again, they're back in stock.

Awesome, thanks Dyne.
I also just found component cables here, but they're more expensive.

I just thought I'd add the link so people in the future can get them there if they're out of stock at play asia.

NCSX is always more expensive. Probably because they have more selection, or something.
I just got my games from Play Asia today, and I'm really satisfied with my purchases. They came in a week just like they promised, and that's to Canada with the slowest shipping possible.

That's pretty fast coming from Hong Kong, I believe. I ordered the cables last night, so they should get here soon then.

I think I paid 30 bucks 2 years ago for mine off Nintendos website. And I thought that was a lot. I dont see why Nintendo cant sill offer them. Pretty rediculous if you ask me. As for the picture being better...eh...it is, but I wouldnt say its worth 60 bucks, at least not to me...

Well at least I ended up paying $49.50 for it. I'm glad that I didn't buy it from ncsx.

Woo, I just received it in the mail. Now I have to wait for halftime of the Mexico vs. Argentina game to check it out. I'm assuming that I don't need to plug in the yellow video composite cable now.
I popped in Metroid Prime for a little taste of it. In the area where your ship is the rain looks much better, and you get a better depth perception it seems. It definitely looks more clear and sharper all together. Thanks Dyne!
