I'm so helplessly addicted already. It combines the goodness of the N64 game and the modern-day mechanics that aren't too repetitive. It also stands out pretty well from A Wonderful Life, in that the perspective is different enough, and the farming is somewhat different.

Who else is playing it?

A Wonderful Life is pretty boring. When I played it, I just spent my time fishing and washing my sheep. =/ Now I'm finally married (yes, didn't play it that long) so it could get more interesting. And no that's not what I mean. -_-'

I too found A Wonderful Life to be boring, because it strayed too far from the N64 Harvest Moon, which is one of my favorite games of all time.

A friend of my from school has Magical Melody, and she claims it is the paragon of all Harvest Moon games.

I want it.

Get it. Get it NOW

I got mine for trading in a Megaman X cart and my nintendo wifi dongle. Cheap, neh?

Also, it is really really hard picking a wife in this one (from the massive list), but I think I'm going to go with either:

or

I mean they're both hotties but I don't know which one will put out more. I'd say Ellen, but Maria is a babe.

I have gotten pretty far in A Wonderful Life, and played a bit of the N64 and PS Harvest Moons, but is Magical Melody really good? What is different about it, I am considering buying it. :D

It's way better than A Wonderful Life. It's weighted much better, the days are pretty much perfect. Basically, if you were ever interested in Harvest Moon at all, this game will be ripe for the picking.

The dating system is completely revamped and there's a ton of dates you can go after now.

The new stamina system pissed me off at first but then I found a good fishing hotspot, and now I have a fridge full of sashimi at my disposal.

Alright, thank you, it sounds very interesting. I may just have to go out and get it =)

For the record, I'm STILL playing, and I've had a lot happen. It's still a fantastic game and I see myself playing this for much longer. I only just started my first barn.

Is it like Animal Crossing with an intense focus on agriculture?

Actually, yeah.

And fishing that's ripped straight from Animal Crossing, except really really easy.

If you're a fan of animal crossing, you'll find it a million times better like I do. :)
