its funny how certain areas spend more time hatin other teams then they do supporting thier own.

i have teams that i like more then others... but other then that i dont care what team is there just as long as its good hockey. eh, but thats just me i guess. :)

GameTavern has died...it's kinda sad.

back when I was a mod (;))...one could expect Battle of the Babes (co-credit to Bond), many original contributions to the gaming forum (co-credit to Darkmaster) among other things.

But it has become fairly dead...things like the NHL playoffs generated buzz :(

And I agree with Null completely...I dont get the hating involved, I love to see the top teams, and the teams that I like AND dislike (a good balance) the most in the playoffs, it creates the most interesting matchups and makes things interesting. Imagine another Ottawa/Toronto series? Maybe even Montreal/Toronto later on? I was hoping for Dallas/Edmonton too, I suppose it's possible but Detroit should take care of Edmonton.

yea its odd how that happened stu... Detroit got Edmonton, while Dallas got Colorado...

how great would it have been for thoes to be reversed? you gotta know that even tho its not the rivalry it once was, both cities and much of the nhl LOVES a detroit/colorado series... and on the flip side, both cities probably woulda really loved a dallas edmonton series. had some great ones with thoes two.

then beyond that, i love ANY series between original 6 teams. which is why i soooo hope detroit gets bumped over into the east where they belong. its been mentioned a couple times now that if pittsburg doesnt have a team next season (which aparently they might lose the team) its possible that detroit would get bumped over. not only tho for the reason we'd be playin more of the original 6 teams....but we wouldnt get games that start at 10pm like they do tonight. =/ (unless finals of course, but still)

And what a odd start to the playoffs tho... all 4 teams who played night 1, that won the first game... lost thier second and thier series is tied 1-1.
While all the teams that started night 2, and won thier first also won thier second to go up 2-0.

Then who woulda expected BOTH #2 seeds to be down 0-2 right now.

Hating other teams is a major part of loving your own team though.
I'm not saying I dont like other teams, because I do.
But I view this as friendship. All the teams are people. The team you love, is your best friend. You wont like all the other people your friend knows. You're bound to not like some of them, despite the fact they are good people, and are entertaining. Maybe they are just really annoying at times.

/metaphor'd

Anyways, I dont really hate any team. Aside from the Leafs. But that's expected. If you're from Vancouver, you basically have to not like the Leafs.

But back to the playoffs, I really hope Montreal, Buffalo, Anaheim and Edmonton do good. Especially Montreal. :(

no no, im not sayin that people dont dislike teams and such.

i just find it really interseting that in some areas. like calgary for example.... they put more time and effort INTO hating another team rather then supporting thier own.

teams in the playoffs right now i like...
Detroit
Edmonton
Nashville

Devils
Montreal
hurricanes

only teams i dislike are colarado and aniheim, colarado because its our rivals and its fun :) anahiem because i just dont like the team name... it feels like a generic disney team whos name stands for nothing.

Oooh, okay.
Sorry, haha.

And yeah, I dont really like the Anaheim name. Plus it was bought by disney.

And next year it's going to suck for them, because they'll just be called the Ducks.

Ew.

yea. i dont know why they think thats going to be any better for them. they need to get away from that image entirely. but when they name thier arena the pond, they cant exactly name themselves the tigers. lol

oh wait! the Anaheim BattleToads! much better. :P

Hey man, I'd pay money to go down to Anaheim to watch the Battletoads play. That would actually be a pretty awesome name, and on par with The Mighty Ducks.

I've never really liked them though, because they're all high on themselves. They arent the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. They're the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. What the hell is that ****?

I just like them in the playoffs because they're total underdogs.

I'd like the FLyers to win; but I don't think it will happen. I can't really follow it anyways. I'm more excited for the snooker world championships actually. Oh, French keyboads suck. The "a" is way out of place.

Null

we expect that they play crappy in first rounds. its not the beginning of the trend, its the trend thats been there for the past 15 years or more. even in the years we won the championships...

2002, we went down 0-2 to the cunucks before winning the next 4 straight.
in 1998 we won game 1 against the coyotes, lost games 2, and 3, before winning the next 3

we're used to it. we expect it. ;)

past few games tho they have played a bit better, so im not really all that worried about mondays game.

But even if they dont win.... i still got the Devils! :)
