Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror
and/or
Daxter

anytime soon?

Ive followed these two titles a bit and they seem to be getting some high praise from reviewers...Daxter being a really solid old-school platformer and Syphon Filter being the first real 'blockbuster' handheld game. But I dont have a PSP to play them for myself...

Actually, I have no interest in either, but I assume fans of the Jak series will like Daxter mainly because of the comments I've seen on it thusfar.

Well, considering the main Daxter guy ripped PSP developers a new one because of the fact there hasn't been an "OMG MUST HAVE BECAUSE ITS GREAT" game yet. There have been games known but I havent seen a huge hit yet. He mentioned about developers complaining because of the lack of a second analog stick so its "too hard" to make games for the PSP.

I'd give Daxter a try if I could just because of the fact that a PSP developer didn't shy any comments.

Syphon Filter being the first real 'blockbuster' handheld game.
You mean the first 'blockbuster' PSP game?

Wasn't that Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories?

I'm interested in Syphon Filter most definitely, Jak....I dunno. I played this on the Psx and loved it, when people were praising MGS, I was playing Syphon filter too and loving them both :)

No, I mean the first 'blockbuster' handheld game.

-good voiceacting
-nice musical score
-fluid 3D controls
-console-like graphics
-full fledged online gameplay

Of course it does...I tried to make it clear with my single quotations on each side of the word, but you felt the need to chime in with your own little comment...now you've got 2 posts in this thread without contributing a damn thing to it.

' '

Unless somebody hands these games to me for free, no, I won't be playing them.

'Blockbuster' just sounded very fanboyish. To me it sounded like you didn't think any previous handheld (mostly Nintendo) were good (enough) or 'big'.

"console graphics" --> we had that on the Gameboy Colour. Heck, we even had it at the Game Gear.

"Something, such as a film or book, that sustains widespread popularity and achieves enormous sales."

Too bad you can't really say that right out of the doors.

Pokemon is blockbuster.

oh dear...oh dear oh dear

blockbuster, to me, is more than just widespread success or sales. for example...King Kong was a blockbuster movie last year, while, say, Capote wasnt. huge in scale...high production value.

i apologize for any misunderstanding...keep fighting the good fight, fellas
