http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/halo2/index.html

Halo 2 on the PC contains the original Halo 2 as well as the Multiplayer Map Pack and a level editor, and it requires Windows Vista.

If that happens to be true, then that's like the end-all nail in the coffin that proves that Microsoft was behind Halo 2 being the worst sequel in the long history of terrible sequels.

Do you think Bungie really cares what operating system their game is made for? Looks like Microsoft has a new ploy to sell Windows Vista. I mean, I'll buy a legit OEM of Vista just to make life easier, but that's hilarious.

Bungie is corrupt!!!!!!1111!11!

i think i read the reason its vista only was because of DirectX 10 will be on vista.

i dont know if that means that dx10 wont be on xp or what, its possible DX10 is for 64bit only, but theres a 64bit xp so i dunno how that works

but MS doesnt need a game to sell vista, vista will sell and will sell more then likely quite well, unless they really mess it up like with WinME.

and aside from that, i think they all know that the game certainly woudlnt be the one to sell an OS, PC gamers really just dont care about halo, not with so many better fps's to choose from.

Buying a new OS is just the way to go.

Having a pirated OS becomes annoying after a while.

Well, I snagged my copy of XP pretty late in the game, so it's pretty up to date. But there are the Window's updates and the fact that I have an OEM means I can install my OS in about 30 minutes, go online, get everything updated in another 30, and not have to spend copious amounts of time getting set up. It just seems easier I guess. I'll probably pirate Vista to try it out but then buy it, I've heard good things about it.

im not getting what your saying is different.

my XP came with a laptop (i use linux on the laptop, so XP was free for the system)
But whether its pirated or baught, the OS works exactly the same... im assuming a pirated copy would come with a XP Key, aside from the fact its put on a CD R, there wouldnt be anyway to tell if its real or stolen.

If you don't have an OEM you might have trouble installing it, and if it's a downloaded copy there's a good chance you won't be able to get any updates.
