With great power comes great responsiblity. But what happens when that great responsiblity becomes too much to handle?

This summer...

Spider-Man.

Goes.

Bad.

Nice! (y) This might be a worthy sequel to part 1. :) Part 2 was just.... part 1 but different.

Edit: the "goed bad" thing makes it sound like he's rotting or something. :D

Peter Parker does pick up the symbiote...

Edit: Word on the street before Spiderman 2 was that they were holding off on Venom and Carnage for Spiderman 3.....

Just hope it doesn't fall prey to what happened to Batman. I know it was all Schumacher but look at the crappiness to villian number ratio:

Batman: 1.5
Batman Returns: 2.5
Batman Forever: 2
Batman & Robin: 3 (plus 2 sidekicks)
Batman Begins: 4

Spiderman: 1
Spiderman 2: 1 plus 2 before become villians.
Spiderman 3: 2 plus 2 before than become villians and one who may become one near the end.

I don't know about you, but I think most people consider Batman Begins to be one of if not the best Batman movie. Since ithas the most villains, that would seem to shoot down your theory...

Except in theory the movie makers somehow found a way to weave all the characters into the main plot.

Most others, will give each character something different which bogs down the action.

Also the same could be said for superman.

Except for the fact, it seems to hav gotten worse with each clone they bought in for him.

As for the pic, yeah Spiderman looks despressed. I wonder why. He got the girl. Maybe a job who knows what else.

As for the whole villian thing,

there are possibly 3 villians with one turning near the end.

There is the introduction of one major character and possibly up to 2 more.

Then there are the plot threads from part 2

And makes them all pitifully forgettable.

yes...but while that's true, but it doesnt seem to affect the quality of the movie. I would much rather see a good superhero movie with forgettable villians than a crappy superhero movie with memorable villians.

Does anyone else here feel as though.... you want to see more of spidey and less of Tobey? LOL

If we didn't have Peter, there would be no reason to care for Spider-Man. What makes him so endearing is that forever existant conflicting persona. Out of the guilt he attaches to himself for the death of Uncle Ben, he forever feels obligated to use his powers to help the innocent and fight evil. At the same time, he attempts to balance this hero life with his own life and own desires. His choice to put the responsibility of his powers and duty to protect the people from evil over his love for Mary Jane is what makes him so admirable.

Had Uncle Ben not been killed. Peter probably would've just used his powers for fun. Maybe even for his own benefit, eventually leading him down the path of evil.

Being as the movie is named Batman Begins, I somehow don't have a problem with Batman being the most intriguing and well-developed character. Maybe it's just me, though.

I don't often admit it, but I'm with GM here. :) Spiderman is cool for 50% because of Peter.

I really hope that spiderman 3 doesn't try and fit to many villians in the mix. I've heard Sandman is suppose to be there along with Vemon and the Goblin, as well as some competition for MJ.

I really hope that they just include sandman and the goblin, cause Vemon is one of spiderman's main arch enemies, and I think that the story line that revolves around vemon should be a separate movie.

But hey that's just me.

Well I know I'm saying... you guys already seem to have a strong knowing of who Peter Parker is and so do I.

I do like the character development in the movies but there are times where I would like to see just a lot action with Spider-Man.
