View Full Version : PS3 = Must buy an HDTV to use it?

Just read this article and take a collective "what the fark are they thinking?". This isnt 100% related to PS3 but with how Blu-Ray involved in this horrible way of alienating people and PS3 using Blu-Ray, I think this will be a very bad decision by Sony if they make it so only people with HDTV's with an HDMI or DVI connection can watch next-gen movies and quite possilby even games if this is how it pans out.

well you know all tv's (cable, satilite) have a set date of when the switch to HD happens, after that point if you want to use a regular TV for any of that you'll have to get a converter,

i dont remember the date they 'plan' on making that happen is on, but theres always converters to make things work on normal tvs and such.

well the TV i currently use, doesnt have HD but seems to work fine with HD programs.

Over the air HD is different from this. I know of the time when the switch will occur and the government setting aside money to help people with "downconverters" who dont want to upgrade yet.

I just hope HD sets continue to fall at a good enough pace over the next 3 years...
