I just watched this and I absolutely love it. It's about a guy who comes back to his home town after being away for 9 years. Quite romantic, without being a girls movie. Go watch this. Really.

Great, great movie. Zach Braff is amazing.

I like Garden State, but don't love it....It has one too many extremely cheesy moments to make all that great for me.

I would like it more if others didn't like it so much.

I seen this movie a while ago with my mom and dad, it was really good, Zach Braff was quite good in it.

I didn't know they did, so it was easy for me.

If you liked this movie, go watch Im Juli (with subtitles, since it's German). It's good, though not as serious as this one. :)

I thought it wasn't that popular a movie. I looked everywhere for a DVD of it here, but couldn't find it, so I downloaded it off bittorrent. I really liked it, and the ending left me quite happy, don't know why...

It reminded me of Elizabethtown, which I also liked...

Why can't everybody get a happy end? :(

What does it matter if a movie is popular?

And yeah, Garden State rocks. :]

I'm just weird like that.

And doesn't help that my friend plays it on a loop on his video iPod whenever I drive anywhere with him.

I wont lie, I love the cheesy chick movies. I blame that on being raised by my sisters.

Anyways, i'll check it out, I was meaning to do so a long time ago, but, you know, without having a personal vagina and all, I really had nothing to back it up with.

But I've heard it was a really good movie, so this only fortifies that point. :p

So if a song, movie, show, hobby, etc becomes popular...

you'll stay away from it?

How odd.

All I know is that it gave The Postal Service a big increase in fan base.

That's rather....emo, if I do say so myself.

As long as you dont proclaim such things as "I cant like them, they're too mainstream", "They sold out", or the classic "Nobody gets them anymore."

I really can't get along with people who shadow over people's success... in a world full of those people... no one would succeed..

1. If a band who has been underground for awhile, finally gets recognized and a major record label signs them... they sold out.

2. If a movie is too popular and everyone likes it... you tend not to watch it because it has become trend.

All I know is I've been listening to Paramore for awhile now on Purevolume and Fuse, and recently been catching them on MTV... and I'm happy for their recent exposure.

So you expect that band to want to stay poor for the rest of their lives?
I dont know about you, but if my band had a chance to make it big, and make my dream come true, I'd stop playing garage shows, and 50 person clubs.

Hell, why didnt Microsoft just stay as a company between 2 friends?
Why did Nintendo branch out?

Yeah...if you're an idiot you do.

Yeah...if you're an idiot you do.

You realize he was using those as examples of things that he knows are wrong and that he doesn't agree with, right? He just said that he was happy that some bands he liked got onto MTV.

Well, I don't have cable...or really watch TV anyway...nor listen to the radio...so I don't know most of the time now if something is popular other than what I see around me.

I was listening to The Postal Service a little bit after twas released back in 2003 and tried to expose them to friends...well I started to hate them when my roommate took a liking to them and had the album playing on a loop for a month (what's with the loop people I surround myself with?) so I kinda like when I'm one of the few people in my little world who know of something not many else do. I still like the album though...now that can listen to in peace.

My favorite band Tsunami Bomb never made it big...they got a video to play on MT2 in Latin America or something and were ecstatic about that. No one I've shared the band with likes them. Sadly they broke up though.

I like being the outsider. I didn't even start listening to English bands until a couple years ago. Just having lyrics I could understand bothered me at first. Strange case eh?

Soooo, Garden State...whoo Jersey...er, yeah...

slow your role... I'm with you on this... those were references to the type of people I don't get along with. :\ The people who cringe at the sight of their favorite band gaining mass exposure and now everyone listens to them...

Sure if a band gets signed and suddenly change their musical styling to the liking of the label and turn totally around, that would be selling out... but a lot of bands have been making it big and keeping their original sound.
