I don't think there is anything that'll make the USA totally recover from what's happened.

not matter how many speeches Bush gives.

Oh yes, we are in such dire straights. Oh woe is us. Might as well switch to communism and let Castro take over.

What was that line he used, "the dark hatred of fear, something something." What a bunch of mumbo jumbo, I hate this guy.

That state of the union nearly made me sick. And no, that didn't have anything to do with me being drunk and watching it at 2 AM here in London...

That is one of the more ignorant statements I've heard in a long time. People honestly have no clue as to what oppression is or how great our freedoms are and how good we have it in this country, or in Canada for that matter.

We sit and squabble over what is, in reality, minor details. That is a LUXURY. We have a democracy, a booming economy and more political freedoms than you can shake a stick at. Meanwhile other nations have no concept of political freedoms, like Cuba, and we compare ourselves to them and say they can't be that much worse whwn thousands of Cuban refugees flock to our country. Same with Mexico, what I believe to be the most corrupt democratic government on the planet.

It boggles the mind how far people can warp reality to reach an end.

Ah yes...it's always fun to watch Strangler killing straw men. So much dry debris flying around...

I suppose I could push his buttons a little bit by talking about the economy, but Strangler has been demonstrably bad at math, so maybe I won't try to get a rise out of him this time.

What's that? The actual speech?

Who cares? Two months from now, we'll be on to something else and most of the words that came out of Bush's mouth will have been forgotten by both sides. I'll bet they're mostly forgotten even right now.
