anyone read the series or at least the first book?

it's by Orson Scott Card.

and i give the first and second books a 5/5.

there are something like 7 books in the series, i've only read the first 2 being
Ender's Game
Speaker for the Dead

both are must-reads if you're into Sci-Fi or if you're into suspence or any other genre except Romance :p.

they are planning on making Ender's Game into a movie, it's somewhere on IMDB and i have very high hopes for it....i also have a very high expectation that they will fail quite horribly.

you can't really capture that specific book if you don't get ALL the details...there are no "unimportant" in the books...every small detail counts.

oh well, i'm hoping for the best.

if you guys end up reading it, post here what you think :)

If it makes you feel better, Orson Scott Card himself is working on the adaptation of the novel, so it should be fine.

I've read all the books in the series.

Ender's Game is my favorite novel of all time, actually.

I've read this book before.

what a great read, this is definitely a definition of a great sci-fi book.

theres 4 i believe, and they are all kickass, the later ones become less about religion and war, and more about politics.

but yes, they are my favourite series of all time.

and to happydude, there is romance in it later as well (hint - novinah & ender)

Wrong, there's 8. Besides the regular Ender quartet, there's also the Shadow quartet which starts with Ender's Shadow.

The series is like the Ender series in that the first book is pretty different from the other three. Ender's Shadow pretty much retells Ender's Game in the POV of Bean (with some more stuff, too; its not limited to just what was in Ender's Game). After that are: Shadow of the Hegemon, Shadow Puppets, and Shadow of the Giant. Those take place in the years following Ender's Game/Shadow and focus on an earthside war. I found these to be less interesting and memorable than the Ender quartet and Ender's Shadow, but...

There's also another book planned that will bridge the Ender and Shadow series.

And if you guys really like the Ender books (or anything else of Card's) then I highly suggest you check out his website: Hatrack (http://www.hatrack.com). It has information on all of OSC's books and such, some really good message boards (including one for aspiring authors) and tons of other stuff. Its awesome.
