Check it out, folks (http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1808718754/trailer)

I think it looks rather extremely promising...
And I am still extremely excited...
To say the least...
So now I'm gonna go watch it again...

Oh.

Sweet.

Jesus.

This actually looks very good, like it actually has a story. And it won't just be gore scarey, but actual fear

When I went to pick up my check tonight at the theatre a colleague of mine was building the preview reel. And I got to touch it!

Maybe its because I never played the games but it looked like another blah horror flick to me. *shrug* At least no Uwe Boll.

That trailer makes it look like there are zombies behind every corner...

And why does Sean Bean suddenly get to play all the fathers?

That trailer makes it look like there are zombies behind every corner...

Because the job of a trailer is to try to lure in moviegoers with what the marketing team thinks they want to see...

The writer has said that in the screenplay, there were huge portions where seemingly nothing happened... Just Rose (the mother) wandering around by herself, no dialogue, no monsters... Just pure atmosphere...

But for the record, there are no zombies in Silent Hill... :>

Maybe its because I never played the games but it looked like another blah horror flick to me. *shrug* At least no Uwe Boll.

Could be, but if you had played the games, you'd know that the preview was pure Silent Hill through and through...

Which is why many fans are extremely happy with the trailer.. The story is largely taken right from the first game, some of the scenes are exact re-creations of events in the first game, and the monsters (for the most part) are lifted from the various games (and look pretty spot-on)...
Oh, and of course the air raid sirens!

But the thing fans are raving about the most is how visually amazing the film seems to be... The otherworld just looks... Fantabulous... And very, very true to the games...

Wasnt the main character in SH1 a guy? Hmmm...Ive always liked the SH series,(havent played 4), so I am interested in this.

Wasnt the main character in SH1 a guy?

Yeah it was... Like I said, it's based mostly on SH1, but it does feature some changes...

Not only was SH1's main character a guy, but his wife was dead... Whereas Rose's husband (Christopher, played by Sean Bean) is quite alive and well...

But I don't really have a problem with it, seeing as how Harry (SH1 character) was sort of like a bland, personality-less husk of a character used solely for the purpose of having someone to control through the game...

If they had him in the movie, he would probably have been changed so much that it might as well not even be him...

So they threw him out entirely :>

I hope they choose the "dead in jeep" ending. :)

I hope they choose the "dead in jeep" ending. :)

Nah, that's too direct of a Jacob's Ladder rip-off :>

I'd rather them do the ummm.... It's either the "Bad+" or the "Good" ending, where Harry (or Rose, in this case) escapes (without Cybil) carrying a new little baby...

It's sort of a nice little mysteriously open, bittersweet ending...

Rose would reunite with Christopher, then they could end the movie on a shot similar to the clip from the SH1 intro where Harry and his wife find Cheryl on the side of the road...

I'm betting on the "Good" ending. Especially after all those pics of Cybil. Haha.

Can't wait. :x

I'll be on spring break when the film is released. :x

We have the poster up at the theatre now. Is the little girl the same girl from Smallville who was Lana's best friend as a child. If so, she's developing a reputation for playing scary little girl.

She was also the scary little ghost girl in Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital...

But she doesn't just play a scary little girl in Silent Hill... I believe she plays two normal girls and a scary little girl...
