Hey one of my teachers came to me with a problem, he bought a dvd with videos on it and wants to edit and convert small portions to AVI files. I dont know how to but anyone got any ideas?

Unless it's personal video, I don't think he can do that without committing copyright infrigment.
Go to VersionTracker.com and look for DVD ripping software.
just need a program like dvd decrypter to put the dvd's onto your HD, then a program that can edit and convert the VOB files. OR convert them first then use any editor to edit them once thats done.

What happens is its illegal to broadcast the DVD, but since he bought the Education version whichs is like $150 he can broadcast to students, aswell as put them on the harddrives so they can open them and watch them...anysuggestions on what program and how?
