My Parents got bought me the January 06 Copy of PCGAMER and I was reading about a event that happened on EVE Online.
Eve online is a MMO set in the future with big space ships, in the game you can make Corporations and potentially like real life, you can rise to the top and fall off it even faster, the game gives you the option to do great things, and terrible.
So of course some person with no life, plays the game 24/7 is at the very top of a corporation, owning a spaceship that is very rare, (2 in the entire game), the corporation specializes in slaving some race on a planet. This corporation has been known for pulling major scams and such. A wealthy group of radicals higher a group of very specialized mercenaries. Over a period of 3 months the mercenaries incorporated themselves into the corporation and on a certain day ambushed, strip, and completely destroyed the corporation.
My major point is in the following, 30 billion ISK estimated to be $16,500 from IGE.com was taken.
My questions
1.Should people be able to distort a game this much and change it so much in the blink of an eye.
2.Would you ever play a game that you can get scammed out of anything.
3.What do you think of this event, is it wrong? is it ok? is it a plus in keeping the game interesting?
