Well, this is a bit different than a year in review thread.
It seems the general opinion is that 2005 was a pretty bland year overall.
So it got me to think which was my favorite year since birth.
I mean technically doesn't have to be.. but makes sense.
I could narrow it down to two years.
First one up is 1985
Lets see
-I was born that year so it gets bonus points.
-The release of the NES in America
-The first WrestleMania which took place two days before my birth. In my hometown.
-The song 1985.. eh
And then there is 1992
-One of the best Royal Rumble matches ever. Yes wrestling made it on both years.
-Year Aladdin was released. Favorite animated movie of all time.
-Year Batman Returns was released. Favorite movie of all time.
-Year i got my Sega Genesis, which was my first console. My bros and I had NES and Super NES but either one of my older bros or had to share. Genesis was all mines. and got it along with Batman Returns.
So what are your top years.

85-98 were all very good. 99-03 were beyond hell. 04-05 ive been much more productive and a LOT happier (still not 'happy', but WAY happier).
I still have to give the 'early years' the nod...even though ive overcome quite a bit in 04-05

I'm going to have to say 2005 has been the best year of my life. Early on this year I did a complete personality make-over, and I have been a better person ever since. I am now confident, optomistic, charming, and I generally have a very positive outlook on life. Plus, I turned 18 this year, which was cool, and I got a PSP, and, most importanly, a girlfriend that is absolutely precious.
Other good years:
1998 - Well, I was in fifth grade at this time. It was the last year of elementary school. This was the last year I was friends with the best friend of my childhood. We grew apart since then. Not to mention these were the years of Pokemon and Zelda: OoT. My friends and I were addicted to these games. I still hold the honor of being the first one in my class to finish OoT. :D
1999 - Got a computer. Been addicted to the internet ever since that fateful Christmas morning.
2004 - Bittersweet year. I had my first girlfriend and my first break up. No real loss, but it hurt at the time. My best friends in high school graduated, but I am thankful for the two years I had with them, including most of this year.

2005.
even though '91 was the year I was born, 2005 takes the cake.
In the beginning of the year I was awaiting my Washington DC trip, which soon took place in April {April 24th to be exact}, and that trip was the most eventful and the most fun i'll probably ever have as a kid, being able to hang with friends and stuff. later on in mid June {June 14th to be exact} I ended my last year in middle school. then in late August {August 29th to be exact} I started high school, beginning one of the final chapters of my education, and starting to become a man.
so 2005 was like a kick ass year, it'll go down in my books as one of the best, IF NOT the best, pending upon the future of course.

2005
Some things that happened last year were~~~
-Got My First Job
-Got My Drivers Lisence
-Went to Hawaii
-Did pretty damn well in school (top 2%, highest history scores, and one of the highest SAT scores)
-Got a great girlfriend
-Had a GREAT summer (pool partys, BBQs, sports)
I have a feeling this year will be just as good or even better than the last though. In my case, I always have the final say in how much I enjoy myself.

I would have to say probably either 99 or 2000. Not sure why exactly, those were just the last of the true carefree days of my youth.
Every single day since then has been the worst day of my life. So today is the worst day of my life. (a little office space for ya)

2005 completely sucked for me, I hope 2006 will be better.
I can't really pinpoint my best year, its usually separated by school years and places that I have lived.
But 1999 was pretty good:
-got into GSSM
-met some awesome friends
-plenty of parties at school
2001 was good too:
-rang in the New Year in style :D
-good times with my friends
-went to France for the first time
-went to Disneyworld for the first time
-graduated from high school (kind of bittersweet)
-went to college
-met jeepnut
And finally, 2004 was pretty good:
-I choose not to divulge the reasons
Every single day since then has been the worst day of my life. So today is the worst day of my life.
Wow, that's pretty messed up.
I honestly can't pinpoint my best year...must have been a while ago though. 2005 definately not

I think I like 1995...10 years old was just a great age to be. Not many worries, playing games outside and Super Nintendo to the wee hours of the morning...Can't beat it.
Life is pretty great now for various other reasons, but it's a different kind of fun, a more adult fun, which I suppose I'm not ready for yet.

I'd say my favourite year would have to be 86'; The year of my conception and all.
But if you want to say the best year of my life, I would have to go with 87'. For obvious birth reasons.

2006 will be the best year of my life, I can feel it.
Years 1997-2000 were great for me... 2000-2004 we fun.... 2005 was great, but I don't know, I just have this feeling about this year.

This one goes to 2004, but closely followed by 2005.
2004
The year I came out to almost everyone I know and learned many valuable things about life. Became very independant.
The year I met my boyfriend Matt, very special he is to me.
2005
Learnt who my real friends are (not gay related). Started trusting my gut instincts more and not believing other people's bull****!
Worked out more, and became more buff. Starting to love myself a bit too much, but I don't care coz selfishness is an important part to who you are (as long as it don't get too far ahead of you).

Well, 2006 is off to a strange start. I almost got in trouble for being on a beach tonight. I actually cried a little.

It's a pretty well-known game; I just heard about it at PAX two years ago when they were demoing the computer adaption.

Well, we went there at 10:30 ... pretty late. And it wasn't a regular beach. It was down underneath some train tracks at the end of a really winded road. As we were getting ready to leave, at midnight, someone said he saw a light up by the cars. They thought it was a policeman. At this point they informed me that we could get in trouble for loitering because it was so late at night. So, someone went and checked it out while the rest of us hung back. Turned out there was no one up there but the whole experience gave me quite a scare.

Well some governments are pretty strict about the no-campers thing. I know in Canada they are - the nearest beach has a closing time.

A friend of mine had to go to court for hanging out at a bay after it was suppose to be closed. Funny thing is my other friend always warned us about it but we never took her seriously.

there weren't any signs posted and no gates or anything. although, this isn't the sort of beach people usually go to.

Yeah, there's a park near my house that has a closing time "at sundown," but there's no signs or anything, like your beach... I actually was caught by a cop (unfortunately, this was also after the curfew I didn't know existed until then .).
Anyway, my b est year would probably be 1994, pre... November.
