WASHINGTON (Dec. 17) - Rebuffing aggressive overtures from Microsoft, Time Warner has agreed to sell a 5 percent stake in America Online to Google for $1 billion in cash as part of an expanded partnership between AOL, once the dominant company on the Internet, and Google, the current online king.

Rest of it is in link, its long but worth reading.

Where will Google smite Microsoft next? :D

Does Google have what it takes to improve the God-awful AOL? Or are they in it simply for the $$$

Find out next week!

In the coming weeks, be sure to see them come out with their own version of AOL called Google Online or something else mediocre but ascerbic.

And AOL can't say ****!

Aw yeah!

AOL still has a very large base of users even though it has been dwindling (around 20-22 million at last check)

I got rid of AOL almost 2 years ago, and I can say for me atleast, I don't miss it one bit.

We still have our AOL account but we use Comcast. It's nice to have my old e-mail address for so long... :)

For some reason.. in 5 years I see the "Google Box" after buying out Microsoft and entering the console industry themselves.
