ok...for xmas i'm getting about 10-15 Ps2 games

First off... Jesus' eggs in a septic tank!!

And now on to some more must-owns, based on games I've played and quite enjoyed...

ICO
Resident Evil 4 (If you don't own it on Gamecube... I can't remember if you're one of those people without a Gamecube)
Metal Gear Solid 3
Metal Gear Solid 2 (Although if you only got one of the two, most people would probably recommend 3)
Katamari Damacy
Suikoden III (Crono/Darkmaster will probably poo-poo the game, saying it doesn't compare to 1 and 2... I personally havn't played either of those, but I quite enjoyed 3)

also, i heard a lot about the .HACK// Series, but i don't know if it's any good...i heard mized opinions and mized reviews...can anyone who has played it give me their opinion?

Actually, Suikoden III is the only one in the series I have played through and beaten. 1 and 2 are great though, and then there's 4...

Of the games HappyDude posted, I'd choose these:

God of War
Shadow of the Colossus
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Resident Evil 4
Final Fantasy X-2
Suikoden III
ICO
Dark Cloud 2
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King
Katamari Damacy
Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones

The .Hack series is...ok. They should've released all 4 in some kind of an ultimate pack for $70 or something. $50 for each game is ridiculous. And they're coming out with another one, though I think it's in a different series, or something.

Zat so? I must be mistaken, maybe it was just Crono who said that...

Or maybe I'm just plain mistaken...

is it linked to the previous ones? or is it like a Final fantasy game where all of them can be played on their own without any idea of the last ones what-so-ever?

That just made me realize why *Enter members name who escapes my mind* bought Xbox 360's to sell them.

Phase 1: Purchase Xbox 360

Phase 3: Profit.

Well yes and no. The first 3 games were a trilogy, and so were the next 3. So far there aren't any links with DQ VIII other than some familiar enemies and spells. You can definitely play it w/o having played any of the others, you'll just be lacking the nostalgia factor if you're not familiar with it.

allright...as long as i know what's going on, i don't much care for nostalgia...

Happydude

Dylflon hated Suikoden IV. I stayed well away from it.

You'd probably be better off going back and trading it.
