Except I thought Ninty either said they would be free to play past games or like a monthly/yearly fee to access them?

No N hasn't announced any formal pricing plan for their games yet but for the most part seems to be a pay to download type setup.

Are you thinking too much or too little?

Anyway...

I want to know why you can select the Sega Genesis on that Game Downloads screen... Somebody get confused with their consoles?

Maybe they couldn't think of another Nintendo console?

Or they are hoping that Nintendo will buy Sega by them.

With Sega now being a 3rd party (and one which releases games on Nintendo platforms), they might be interested in releasing some of their old games for download on Revolution, and I'm sure Nintendo would be happy to let them do so...

I heard someone on the IGN boards mention the possibility of that happening, but I can't remember if it was just hope, a rumor, or an actual confirmed interest...

As for the price... I think 5 bucks for an emulated version of an SNES game sounds about right... Perhaps some could go for 2-3...

But I'm guessing it'll end up being more expensive... And if it is, I'd rather just seek out the cartridge, as I still own a working SNES...

I think if the service really takes off, expect more companies to release their older games on Ninty's system/service. I dont think Nintendo ever said its only gonna be their games.

Also, anyone know what Gametap is? New service by Time Warner where for $15 a month can play legitimate emulated classic'ish games. Sega is one of the big companies on board and growing so wouldnt surprise me if Sega released their stuff to Rev also

Myself and millions of others have waited years for The Streets of Rage series to be ported to a new system. We'd also like a Streets of Rage 4.
