All this 360 is talk is making me want a PS3 that much more. What is everyone's preferred method of preordering? In the past I've preordered from places like gamestop but now I'm thinking of taking the online route. Yeah I'd probably have to get a bundle and have to wait a day for shipping, but I wouldn't have to worry about standing in line somewhere or dealing with speciality stores that give out more preorders than they get systems for.

Another possibility would be to preoder online and try to find one at a best buy or circuit city. In Austin we have a best buy, circuit city and compusa all in the same center. You can have the excitement of finding one w/o the stress of not getting one at all because you preordered. If you get two systems you can sell one on ebay. When the PS2 was released I walked into a Best Buy about 5 days after the launch to get something else and I saw them putting 4-5 PS2's on the shelf right then. I snatched one up along with other customers that were close buy and sold it on ebay for a few hundred dollar profit.

I am a little worried about the controller but if it's not comfortable I'm sure there will be a 3rd party controller that is. RE5 is reason enough to buy a PS3. Not to mention MGS4, DMC4, Warhawk, and Dragon Quest(speculating).

Good things come to those who wait.

I'd prefer pre-ordering online. Especially if launch is around fall and winter. You really want the system so you'll just wait an extra day or two for it to reach your doorstep, rather then wait in the cold until you can walk in and get it... THEN drive home... a waste of gas I tell ya

LOL

I'm excited for RE5, MGS4, VGT, DMC4, and Heavenly Sword. -- Beg on your knees for a Sony PS3.

Ohh Killing Day I think the game is where the statues and environment eventually crumble in front of you if you take cover for too long?

also................ Alan Wake anyone?

Although I don't preorder, if I did I would go with online. It's simple, easy, and involves very little from the buyer other than the wallet. I still think there's something to be said for weathering the elements and standing in line among those who share your interest and anticipation for a game.

I'll drive down to my local EB and ask my friend (the manager) to grab one for me, like I did on the PS2's launch day. Oh those poor people who waited in line at Wal-Mart for 6 hours to end up with a PS2 memory card.

I've never preordered a system. The logical thing does seem to be online, but I think I would do the whole waiting around in a line outside in the cold...just for the experience. It makes me sad that I will never be able to do it to Star Wars. :(

Killing Day also looks unreal....got some nice shiny hardware to play with. That combined with I-8 = Halo what??

Recommend with the PS3 is the moment EB/Gamestop opens the line for Preorders, get yours in. If you wait, your gonna be stuck in line at Walmart or Best Buy with other people you'll be afraid off for 12+ hours :p
