Does anyone happen to know if MS has given in and let keyboards/mice be used on games?

last i heard MS said 360 will support keyboards but not for games.
And that PS3 will leave it up to developers whether or not thier games will support keyboards/mice.

i was hoping that MS has since changed thier view on that issue. because they're gunna have it able to hook up to the PC, i would absolutly love to set it on my desk and hook it up to my monitor and play some FPS on live with a keyboard. :) specially since i dont see myself getting a HD TV for a while, i'd like to play in HiRes on my monitor instead

if you want a keyboard and mouse for FPS, might as well play one on PC. Probably better.

believe me i do, and it is better.

However there are still good FPS games on consoles that dont come by on PC, and why play them with a controller if capable of using something better?

but, thank you for your wonderfully well thought out reponse that totally nails the question in hand..........

Null... you should know better than anyone else... that responses like that happen much more then often here (I'm not singling out Darren).

It's a given ya know?

EDIT: But to add to this colorful thread.... I believe if 360 will be able to hook up to a PC, then why not be able to use keyboard and mice?

well actually that sounded worse then i meant it. i was in a weird mood.

Anyway, you can hook it up to a montor, not the pc, (my typo) it would kinda be the pc then. All im looking for, or hoping for is to be able to play the normal games with the controller, but have the option to play some of the FPS games on Live with the keyboard and mouse at the desk where the computer will sit. have the best of both worlds you know? i dont want a replacment for the PC, not at all, i just want the best way to control each game type. :)

FFXI is pretty much unplayable without a keyboard... so I think it would have one.

Yup, its supposed to be on all the same servers... apparently the PC version running at top preformace still looks (a little) better so its just a flat port. Both PC and Xbox 360 versions blow Ps2 away though.

i'm just guessing here but isn't the pc and xbox 360 versions I dunno...... a generation above ps2? Just wanted to clarify your excitement over their superiority...

well the pc version came out BEFORE the ps2 version.

obviously the PC hardware is beyond a PS2, but the game itself is slightly older on pc.

Actually, if you count Japan, that's not true Null :P

http://mysterytour.web.infoseek.co.jp/ffxi/us/

Near the top right corner is active days. JP Ps2 = 1286 days, JP PC = 1111 days, NA PC = 777 days, and NA Ps2 = 609 days. Not that any of this info was worth posting, but I'm bored :p Its crazy its been out for Ps2 in Japan nearly 4 years though o.o

I'm going to have to say, "No." PC users will adapt to the superior controller if they really want to get in on the Xbox action.

well, what we settled on is that it somehow has to because FFXI requires one.
