Circuit City Plans to sell Xbox 360 on Friday 2PM Eastern (the 19'th, 3 days before legal street date). (http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/genericContent.do?oid=136791&com.broadvision.session.new=Yes&cmSearchKeyword=xbox+360&BV_SessionID=@@@@1720099269.1131918483@@@@&BV_EngineID=cccladdgelkklkkcfngcfkmdffhdfki.0)

I can hardly wait to see how fast they figure out Microsoft isn't about to let that happen.

I wonder if available means "We start shipping via 3 day shipping" :p

Or it could be a publicity stunt.

Oh snap.

Why buy anywhere else if you can buy it early at Circuit City.

Wow, I wasn't even aware it came out this month.

I believe Circuit City will be getting to know Microsoft's lawyers pretty well in the near future. And I think plenty of people know about the 360 considering most places were sold-out months ago, including Wal-mart.com and even Gamestop's rediculous online only $2,000 bundle, even before Microsoft cut the allotment in half (which is either immensely stupid or BRILLIANT on their part).

Yet the boards remain silent... Maybe we "hardcore" gamers don't know as much as we think? I'm still waiting to see how the 360 shapes up, sales-wise. Its kind of an enigma right now. If MS does a good job with the "shortage" while spending big bucks on advertisements (which it should have been doing more of by now, if just for branding purposes), I think they could be in for a very successful six months. Then again, if they just create a shortage and don't let the public in on "what they're missing" through an extensive mainstream advert campaign, they'll be making a big mistake.

Right now the buzz isn't there. MS needs to make it themselves.

Has anyone else seen the XBox360 commercial with a bunch of people doing some amazing jump-roping? I was impressed, I happened to be watching it with my mom once and even she said wow.

But what the hell does jump-roping have to do with the XBox360?????? I don't get it!!! Can someone explain it to me? My mom said wow but she had no understanding that it was about a new videogame console being released in a week. Plus I don't think Microsoft is selling to me mum...

I've always had issues with MS's Xbox advertising. They don't seem to advertise that often anymore since the beginning when they had that great voiceover actor (who was also in They Live and played the father in Something About Mary).

Now they are launching a new system... and where the Hell are the ads? I know that they are sold out for launch, but still, they need to push hard now that they have a lead on the next generation consoles. I just don't understand their strategy.

Maybe to emphasize the 360 portion, saying that they have come back full circle....multiple times?

The ad campaign for 360 is "Jump In", thus the jump rope commercial.

Although showing actual games might've been a better strategy for selling a new game console.

Ah I forgot about that part. That slogan still makes little sense, but perhaps they're building to something.

The first Japanese commercial is the best IMO.

Yet another instance of gamers jumping to conclusions without knowing the story.

Circuit City is opening up orders for Xbox 360 today, and they ship on the 21st.

No, it's called a headline. It got your attention didn't it?

Aside from that, they were advertising that it would be "Available Friday 2PM Eastern." Sorry if you don't also find that the least bit misleading.
