How did you hear about GameTavern? [Archive]

I was looking for something about Nintendo (I forgot what exactly), and Google took me here. I found what I was looking for, and saw the posts. I thought that this would be a good forum to join especially since (not to insult, Neo) it wasnt so big that the people here would consider every new person a newb. Then I saw the F-Zero thread, and mistakenly made on of my own, making it my first post.

I came from Nintendose but a friend referred me there. I had signed up for both AGB and GT upon their grand openings and I liked this place better and I think more people from Nintendose came here.

Nemesis/Blix brought me here. I knew him from another message board, and he also moderated at my own boards. I became more active here when my boards were suddenly cut off by our disgruntled webmaster who was never around, and didn't feel like "babysitting" (his words) a website he didn't run. Unfortunately he didn't even let me take the domain or anything so that was a lost cause.

Yeah, I'm still bitter about that.

I was at Nintendose, but I stopped coming around during its final months and missed the move. Breakabone caught me online and filled me in that most of the Ndose people had moved to a new site called gametavern.com.

I came fron Nintendose also. I remember seeing the thread with the links to either here or AGB.com, and I chose here for no apparent reason. Never looked back.

Been around since nintendodolphin.net. When hell broke lose at NDose and the split happened I went with gekko's Nintentrix...or was it CubeSource at the time...I lose track of all the sites sometimes...and then came here.

I was over at Dylflons hizzouse and he showed me some info on San Andreas from this site and I decided to check it out. Once I got here I decided to say some of my opinions...I forget if I ever did.

Found Nintendose through IGN something like in August of 2000 and made the switch to both AGB and here, but always enjoyed this place better.

Came from NDose near its end (still remember going to it when the 'Cube was first unveiled). I remember when it branched off to AGB and GT and I settled on GT

Funny thing... I called cameron one day, and we were freaking out that Aziz was ditching the whole gang from the forums. We said: hey, lets make our own site. He said: OK.

What should we call it?

Me: How about GamingCentre (or somthing, I dont remember)

CAM: I got it, it's perfect... GameTavern

Me: eh, not bad... ok, lets do that.

... That's how I heard about it.

Many years ago, I searched "nintendo dolphin" on google, and got NintendoDolphin.net... it had two staff members - Aziz Matar and Cameron Rail. I joined there (I believe it was only a few weeks or months old) as a news editor/letters editor... I think I was like 13 or maybe younger, geez. Once Nintendose went under after Aziz kinda abandoned ship, I sat on the fence between AGB and GT, doing work with both, eventually settling on GT, though I stopped going to the forums for about 2 years or something like that.

I was over at Dylflons house to watch Ken Jennings win at Jepordy again, and he was on GT. I asked him what it was and he said i should sign up. The rest is history.

I remember I added this GameExtrordinaire bot to my AIM list, and when i'd IM him, he'd give me a quiz, and if I answered everyone right, it would invite me to sign up for gametavern, so I finally did it.

I first saw the ad for Nintendose on IGN back in December of 2000. The ad made it look like a pretty cool website, so I clicked on it. I then found out it had become only a forum by that point. I didn't do forums, so I left in disgust...

And then I kept seeing the ad again and again and decided to just read around on the forums, and I eventually decided to join. The site then closed less than a month later (in which time I accumulated 400 posts, which is tons more than I get in a month now).

I didn't really understand why the site was closing down or anything; all I knew was that two new sites were springing up and people were splitting as to who was going where. I based my decision to come to GT on who else was coming; the most influential being Psycho_Link because we joined ND at aroundish the same time and both had Link in our names...

So, there you go...

My entrance is rather like that of Crash and DarrenMcLeod... in that I was originally affliated with NDolphin... One of my close friends irl (Cyrax9) was involved there, and I joined up right before it went over to NDose

hmmm...it all started with a site that was doomed from the very beginning: ninglobe :)

After that went down i shied away from the posting scene until happydude got me to visit here, and it kinda grew on me....even after i got banned :p
