And DS is getting III why? I would have much rather had FFVI on DS with those fancy smancy graphics. I played FFVI for a good 10 min on SNES and I liked it very much. A shame. I just don't understand the reasoning behind this though. FFIV is also coming with additional characters, dugeons, items, etc.

Because of the clever name Final Fantasy III-d. It's all about the name, it's all that matters with this revision.

Not to say it won't be good, but it's why they're not doing it with another one.

Third Pillar. Meaning that Nintendo wishes to continue the GameBoy line.

Yep... I like Canyarion's explanation a lot better. Only thing Square-Enix needs to do now is bring FFVII remake to PS3...

I mean at the conference he said they have no plans of remaking FFVII, but they plan on bringing the Final Fantasy games to PS3? I dunno what he meant by that at the press conference, but I believe if they are porting these older ones to GBA and DS, they should have no problem going back to older games LIKE FF7 and remaking it.

Square...plz.... LOL

That's why I said, in the FFIII thread, that I'd rather see 4, 5, or 6 remade on the DS than 3. But eh, still better than nothing.

Square Enix knows both formats are playable on DS no matter what, and that it will garner exactly the same sales as its imagined DS version, but the GBA version would have much less production costs associated with it. I would bet on this.
