Looks good. I know this is suppose to play more like the older Mario Kart games...but is blue sparking gone too?

Speaking of which, I didn't see him hop once.

I don't care for blue sparks much; I just hope there's hop-drifting. I remember in the original Mario Kart I hopdrifted like every course. <3

I believe the technique your referring to is actually called "mini turbo boosting" And if you dont care for it, I cant wait to play you online and beat the hell out of you. Assuming its in the game, which it better be.

Almost everybody calls it blue sparks.

Dylflon and I have placed in tournaments with our blue sparking, so it doesn't matter to me either way. I just prefer to have hopping in my mario karts.

P.S. You won't beat me.

Yeah I really do hope it's in there. Can make every turn perfectly with that technique. Tis a beautiful thing.

Regardless of how bad that guy plays... MK DS is looking great!

One thing I must add though... it looks kinda slow... I mean MK DD was pretty slow, but this does seem a little slower than that... or maybe it was the guy... or Luigi... I use Toad... havent lost yet!

Edit: By the way, I'll be getting that bundle pack with MK DS.

Well, we can find that out soon enough huh? Oh, I too prefer to have hopping in mario karts...I just want blue drifting boosts or whatever you prefer to call them in the game as well.

Anyone who uses a red shell during the GameTavern tournament will be disqualified and temporarily banned. Cheap weapons are not looked highly upon in the company of racers like myself.

I veto the red shells motion and impose a blue shell ban.

How will we find out who used them, anyways? The honor system?

Comon, thats bull. I'll admit, ive been screwed in Mario Kart before, but hey thats just the luck of the draw. Thats part of what makes it so great. With a little luck, even the underdog can win.

7 videos. Chock full of blue sparking. Plus the wifi setup and making custom emblems. :D

Hmm, so say if wanted a clan we could all have a big GT logo in the front of the kart...just an idea.

I really want to get a GT mario kart tournament or clan or something going. How cool would that be? I wonder if they are setting up any sort of online ranking system?

Way to make it like any kart racing game other than Mario Kart.

There are a multitude of ways to avoid red shells including corners and holding a green shell, banana peel, or fake item box behind you.

There's really no point to limiting item uses. The percentage of how often you'll get each item is based on your place in the race. For example, you'll almost never get a lightning bolt or star unless you're in 7th or 8th place. Whereas if you're in first place you'll generally be stuck with green shells and banana peels.

It's a built in "catch-up" mechanism that every Mario Kart has had.

And despite being slightly unfair, it works amazingly well at what its designed to do: Keep the races interesting.
