Yeah, I've been following it pretty close. All i want is the Yankees to get knocked out. They have to learn that you can't buy a championship.

Anyways.
I say.
The Angels.

GO CARDINALS!
Game tonight, really late. I can't wait.
And I saw the end of the game last night when the White Sox knocked the REd Sox out. I said, and I quote, " Aww, look, the Red Sox are so sad."

Sorry about the double post... its not my fault no one was interested in posting in this topic after me.
Anyway, Cardinals won tonight. Swept the Padres!

No offense, but that is the least convincing sweep...EVER...
If the 100 win team couldn't sweep the .500 team, then you know you've got problems.

Yea, I'll be the first to admit sweeping the Padres is no real accomplishment. We will see what happens next round though. Personally, I like to see Atlanta win because the Cardinals always seem to pound Atlanta pretty good in the playoffs...not so much the case with Houston though.

Well, after the longest game in the world, looks like we will be playing Houston.

I don't like the Astros, I wish and hope the Cardinals get to go to the world series, I dislike Roger Clemens to the utmost extent.

I just hate the baised ass announcers that are doing the NLCS, especially Bob Brenley. Whoever gave that guy a color commentating job should be shot. They are all just so damn baised...for instance, in game 3 when Clemens was pitching, they rambled on for god knows how long about how Clemens mother died, how she predicted this and that before she died, how she is obviously watching over the Astros, god was a bunch of bull ****. I just couldnt believe how much they suck Houstons balls.
But how great was that last night? They had allready named Berkman the player of the game, they were talking the usual line about what a great team the cardinals have, how they fight til the very end, they had a great season blah blah blah, And then I dont know if anyone has noticed, but George Bush Sr and his wife have seats right behind home plate. That place went from being so loud to just dead silent. Shut a whole lot of people up. Nolan Ryan can suck on that as well. And I just hate Brendon Backe. Hes such a loud mouthed peice of ****.

Why do you hate the Astros? and Clemens?
not that i'm advocating the love of Astros by any means because the Cardinals are far better...

It's still 4-2 Astros till that ball lands.

I just think when you say your going to retire, do it.
and I just dont like all the crap about the Astros being better {thats what these sports editors say in the local newspaper.} anyways, i've always like the cardinals, Jim Edmonds is my favorite player.

Actually, I think the reason everyone loves on the Astros is because they are the Underdogs...I mean, I know The Sporting News prior to the playoffs picked the Cardinals to win the World series...then again, the sporting news is based in St. Louis...but anyways, my point is, the Cardinals were favored over the Astros by most people I believe.

Not really, not for me anyways. Have you noticed how much dog the Cardinals have in them? They always choke when it really matters. And keep in mind, im a huge Cardinals fan, but I know a team that chokes when I see one, and ive seen it year after year after year. Personally, I think LaRussa has served his time in St. Louis. I think its about time for a change there. Ive never really liked him.

Wow, lots of hate here for the Astros, I can't tell if it's just the warranted "hate" for the opposing team or something more..
This is the first time I've heard people hate the Astros so much. Everyone I meet from outside of Texas seems to like the "lovable losers." I guess when they finally don't lose and finally get some well-deserved national attention for their talent (and their personal quality -- Clemens has proven his personal self-worth to me in the post-game interviews), perhaps people stop liking the lovable losers.. I mean, winners.
If that's the cost of winning, then all I have to say is, Goodbye St. Louis! Hello World Series!

Dun dun dun.
I want the White Sox to win.
Just because its a 1 and 18 million chance that the world series will be won by them this year, according to ESPN.

ESPN is madly in love with Houston.
But it was more along the lines of "Its a 1 and 18million chance that two teams will win it consecutively this last year, and this year, after consecutively doing it in 1916/1917/" or whenever the Red Sox won it prior to last year. Because afyer they won it 80-whatever years ago, The White Sox won it. And then neither of them won it since, until last year, and (possibly, I hope) this year.

I was actually hoping the White Sox would lose the 14 inning game on purpose.
That way they could have won it at home.

I don't know about that though...While I didn't actually get to watch any of the 4 games, all of them were decided by two runs or less which makes it the best series it could be for being a sweep. It also included the longest Series game ever which ain't so bad.

Well obviously, that wasn't my point though. The point was that they won the World Series, just like the Red Sox last year, after having not won it for 80 some years. I know that the Red Sox winning it last year was amazing comapred to this.

I had only watched a few minutes of each game, but I'm still glad the White Sox won, but this season went by surprisingly fast.
