View Full Version : Killer 7
So, who's played this?
I just got it brand new for $19 canadian. I couldn't pass that deal up.
Anyways, I love the gameplay. It didn't take very long to get into. And the style is pretty much sex.

Beat it, loved it... A little on the short side... but a great game nonetheless...

I played a game in France called killer...
but it wasn't a video game.

How short?
I'm beginning to love short games; with my massive amount of reading in University short games fill in the gaps really nicely. And some weeks I may be playing a lot, others not. I'd rather not dedicated 4 weeks to an RPG or equally long game.
Nevertheless, I love Killer 7. The feeling of not knowing what to do is actually very nostalgic. Figuring out how to fly in Super Mario isn't very hard now, but figuring out how to ressurect a fallen persona was almost religious to me, like figuring out how to fly in Super Mario World. Sitting flat on the ground beside the gamecube, in the dark room lit by only the TV and the gamecube/wavebird, I squinted and read the manual with childish joy. Then I sat up and tried it - and it worked. A personal victory for me.

If I ever see it cheap, im definatley going to pick it up. Gasoline prices are really preventing me from buying any new videogames lately.

So does anybody want to hazard a guess as to what in the world the story of this game was about? I'll give pretend reputation to anybody who can explain who Samantha is.

I beat it when it first came out and tried to wrap my mind around the story along with a lot of other people around the net. I think I have a good idea as to what it all means, but its extremely vague and hard to catch onto some of the more subtle aspects.
That and the Handsome Men. What in the **** was that about.
Where did you get it Dyne?

The world being governed not by each country's leaders, but by an illustrious secret society that orchestrates all world events.
There's probably a metal gear involved in one way or another.
Also, Polar Bears!

Willow Video!
Willow is so mind-numbingly sexy, because it happens to be ON the way to my girlfriend's. I go every friday.

Sounds awesome. I was at EB today and saw it for $31.99

That's an ok price. But not as good as mine.
They also had the used section - they had killer 7 in a cheap DVD case for $10. They used to be rentals at the store. If you really wanted to save money, you'd get that.

This game sounds pretty awesome actually.
All this talk of awesomeness and confusion makes me want to play it.
Alas, I never will. :(
P.S. Phil, Starbucks trip today?

How about right now?
I'm avoiding MSN so I'll do homework.
P.S. Killer 7 is also on PS2; the PS2 version in cheap DVD case was only $7.99.

You're avoiding MSN because of me, arent you. :(
I'll just go cry in a corner now.
Well, I need to put pants on and whatnot.
Pants are a necessity in Starbucks trips.
Then I need to, you know...open the door. And all that jazz.
So I'm leaving now then? Ok. See you in a bit.

I wouldn't get the PS2 version, especially if the savings is only $2. If you only have a PS2 and no GameCube, then of course that's your only choice. However, Killer 7 has a lot of load times. It specifically plays a psychedelic animation thing every time a cutscene starts or every time you enter a new room. It's never more than one or two seconds on the GameCube, but PS2 load times are typically twice as long. That would just get really annoying.

I think the load times on the PS2 are exaggerated, I played both of them and most of the time the loading was pretty much the same. If anything the main reason the own the GCN game over the PS2 one is because of the control. Aiming on the PS2 version is a pain the ass because the R1 button has to be completey locked down, as if Capcom added no pressure sensitivity. Total pain in the ass when you're aiming at a kill point on an enemy and as soon as you line it up perfectly, you exit out of aiming mode because the R1 button released ever-so slightly.

Hahahaha.
Am I the only one who actually thought this was sort of funny?
"Load time is 1 second on GC, and Heaven forbid, DOUBLE that on PS2!!!"
Hahaha....not a whole 2 seconds.

When you're getting a load screen every few seconds because you're always walking through, in and out of rooms, yes. Load times do matter.

Not if its an extra second.
If its maybe an extra 5 seconds.
Or 10 seconds total, then yes.
But not 2 whole seconds.
No, load screens are more like 3-5 seconds. Definitely not one second unless it's a smaller room with no actors in it.

Alas, Killer 7 (and 8)...me and Xantar have had some interesting discussions regarding just what the hell happens in this game...
As for Samantha, I'm not sure what her role was, other than helping the main character realize his "third eye" at the end. Perhaps she was trying to in the beginning, and that's why she was "interrupted" right before that stage...
The game tells you who everyone else is- but Samantha...
I got nothing but question marks on that one...
Is there like, a story FAQ or something for this floating on the web?? This thing is worse than Eternal Darkness (which is a good thing).
BTW, Hi all; it's been awhile since I've stepped foot in GT...

Well I beat the game, it was quite enjoyable, and longer than I expected...right when I thought it was over, it kept on going...
Oh, and this game made no sense whatsoever, thats why I started reading this faqs...
That is, until I realised its 50,000 words long and not worth my time.

I read the whole story FAQ and it made sense.
The final boss still didn't make sense to me though.
