Anybody watch the show?
I must say I was a little Disappointed by the season premier.
But let's come together to discuss the mystery of the island and those stranded on it.
Spoilers ahoy!
I liked the first episode, it wasn't all, BAM, best episode but it was still pretty good. I'm really interested in seeing why he did it all.

Who are those people on the boat?
Is Sawyer and the raft crew okay?
What's up with the black smoke stuff?
I was expecting the monster to be like...a robot dinosaur.

Who is he? you kind of left us lost on that one. ;)
The guy who had a gun to Locke's head. He does have a brief history with Jack.
you are all talking about the season 2 premier right? (cuz i dont know what countries its played at, i thought europe only started season 1 not too long ago)
anywho, as for the season 2 premiere, great episode. answer a question, make a bunch more.
and for the preview of next weeks episode, they didnt show any new footage, that was all this episode or before. there was no new clips in that.
things noticed in the season 2 premiere, (some may be spoilers, i find them more of hidden clues tho)
the 'numbers' are written on the bottle the guy injects at the start. Also, the numbers (4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42) are written on that painting on the wall in the hatch, with 108 in the sun (sum of all the numbers)
the woman (that jack saves, his future wife), the other guy she killed in that car accident, is shannons father. also that he died on *cough*8:15*cough*am (numbers).
and what Walt mumbles to shannon in the woods when she see's him.... played backwards says "dont press the button, the button is bad"

Hey, so there's a couple things to be noted about the new episode.
In the tunnel there was graffiti with the number 108 circled. 108 is the sum of the cursed number.
Jack was told not to push the execute button on the computer. Apparently somebody took what Walt whispered and played it backwards and what is heard is "Where's the button... the button's bad"
The guy who dies in the ER flashback has the same last name as Shannon. Could this have been Shannon's husband? Boone did mention that she'd been married. Or it could have been her father who left money to Boone and not Shannon.
The bottle on the thing that Desmond injects himself with at the beginning of the episode reads:
cr-4-8 15 16-23 42
FOR INJECTION
_____ MULTIPLE DOSE
But what is he injecting himself with?
The patient in the flashback that is announced dead dies at 8:15. 8 and 15 are two of the numbers in the sequence of cursed numbers.
Think about what Desmond said in the flashback.
"I'm training for a race around the world"
"I almost became a doctor"
These thing may mean something.
BUT! The most interesting thing he said was "See you in another life".
Desmond sleeps on a bunk and it looks like he was cleaning up someone elses mess. Is someone else down there with him?
Some random thoughts:
The comic book Walt read in the first season had a picture of a polar bear and we saw a polar bear. But, it also had a picture of an island with a force field around it. Could this have some relevance?
There seems to be some affixation on child abduction here. Walt has special powers. What do they need the children for?
/me thinks he just said half of that.
on the guy that died in the flash back, he said he died at age 57? and this was years before present, so it would be hard to believe that it was shannons husband. Which is why i said Father, because we already know from season 1 that shannons father died.
Oh and a note on where desmound says 'see you in another life' ......... Nadia (the girl in sayid's picture) said to him in a flash back, (see you in another life, if not this one)
Also, the car that hit Locke outside the toy store in his flash back.... Same car that Micheal gets hit by in his flash back, which is the same car that hits kate when shes' running away from the police............ that could be 1 of 2 things... could be somthing important to the show, perhaps Desmound had something to do with it all....., or 2, could be just the prop car they used and doesnt mean anything.

Hey guys. I figured something out.
I was thinking about hte picture of the island with the force field. Then I thought about that underground magnet that pulled Jack's key towards it. Then I thought about how the compasses wouldn't wrok. I figure there's a magnetic field aroudn the islan to keep it off of radar. This would explain why planes crash there. Oceanic Flight 815 was knocked off courses and probably came in contact with the magnetic field causing the plane to fail.
This leads me to beleive that there is some military or governmetn experiment going on on the island.
815, was flight 815, im sure that was a typo, but just gotta make sure. hehe
and yes, it was obvious the magnetic field was the reason the compus didnt work. that part wasnt hiddon. however i dont remember a picture of the island with a forcefield, you mean the painting in the hatch? i didnt get a forcefield off of that, i played it in slow mo, i saw some sort of person, a Sun, might of been an island down below, but a bit arrow from the bottom pointing up to the top. and numbers scattered around it.
what was interesting i thought, is the jaged lines coming out of the sun to make it look like beams or whatever(\/\/\/), part of that is what makes the number 16, (top of the 6 line is part of the sun) and with thoes lines it makes it look like 16W, im wondering if that was intended. because it really looks like 16w, maybe there was something else there, im thinking were going to see more of that picture later on.

The picture was in the comic book WAlt was reading in season 1.
A magnetic field would have no effect on radar waves that I know of.
The inside of the hatch said "quarantined," which may indicate the island itself is quarantined.
The stuff that Desmond was shooting up could be an inoculate of some kind. Perhaps to prevent him from changing like Danielle said her comrades did?

The others looked like Zombies.
I think Chen mistook more crash survivors for "others." It implies as much on the ABC website.
The logo which keeps appearing on the equipment in the hatch, Desmond's jumpsuit, and the tail of the shark says "Dharma" in the middle. Dharma is the Hindu principle or law that orders the universe. Also concerns individual conduct in conformity with this principle, and the essential function or nature of a thing. Another possible relevant meaning is from Buddhism, where it is one of the basic minute elements from which all things are made. The symbol itself is a variation on the I-Ching, the Chinese book of changes. The number 23 (one of Hurly's numbers) is of particular significance to the I-Ching. The co-creator of the show said we should think of the number 23 in the context of Robert Anton Wilson's philosophy. He was a philosopher who believed that 23 held cosmic significance. He pointed out that there were several coincidences surrounding that number. For example, Shakespeare was born on April 23rd and died on April 23rd, a man and a woman both provide 23 chromosomes, it takes 23 seconds for blood to circulate through the body, and so on. Kate repeated "23?" when Hurly said the number, then Hurly asked "does 23 mean something to you?" And she replied something about "$23,000." The numbers appear on the hatch as well as on the serum bottle Desmond shot up with. The sum of the numbers is 108, which is written on the painting of the sun within the hatch. When Locke entered the numbers into the computer the timer reset itself to 108 minutes. What happens if the timer expires? Oh, and Chinese astrology holds that there are 108 sacred stars.
Notice the candybar that Kate ate was called Apollo? The first Apollo mission to the moon landed on 23.63 degrees East, the 2nd landed on 23.42 degrees West.
Notice the stuffed animal Michael gave to Walt was a polar bear?
One intrepid watcher noticed that if you freeze-frame the black cloud from last season you can clearly see a face. Also the thing that dragged off Locke was a column of black smoke. Could the black cloud be a life form of some kind? Possibly partly mechanical in nature? There was a definite mechanical sound when it tried to drag Locke into the hole.
My own speculation is that Hurly's numbers have a cosmic significance and that the island may act as a focal point or nexus for those numbers. Anyone connected to the island will experience weird coincidences. The producers both said the island may not be an island at all. Perhaps it is a life form itself? The island drew the survivors to it ("the island brought us here") because it needs them for something.
The equipment in the hatch is very old. The computer, data recorders, and exercise bike are from the 70's. Whatever this project is it's been going on for a long time.

I caught the Apollo thing, and this is what I got out of it:
Apollo was the Greek god of the sun. He drove a chariot around the world, and the wheels of this chariot is the actuall sun that we are seeing. Also, Apollo was the name of those space missions.
Remember when Desmound said he was preparing for a "race around the world"? What if he was racing around the world in a air craft of some kind? I know this leaves a lot of un answered questions, but it's an ok theory. He himself could have written "quarantine" on the inside of the door when he realized what happened to people who went above ground. We are pretty confident more people were there with him, because of the extra bunk beds.
Some support I've thought of for my theory:
1. There was a painting of a sun on one of the walls inside the hatch.
2. In one story of Greek mythology Apollo lets his son (I forget his name) drive his chariot. He could not control it, and veered off course.
One of my theories is that Desmond and Rousseau (I know I spelt that wrong) arrived together. Desmond was one of the others that she spoke of, that killed them all. It is happening again with this plane. The different groups of survivors have an ongoing war.
Didn't she say that "it" killed them, not "him"?
Didn't she say that "it" killed them, not "him"?
I thought that she said that "they" killed them. The "others"
Actually I think I read a translation somewhere where they said the french word can be both "it" or "they" so who knows.

Based on the rate at which they spoon feed us information, this is what I think we'll learn next week.
Michael, Jin and Sawyer will discover their captors are other survivors, not the others. They are not zombies, nor are they sick, but they suspect that Michael and company are so they throw them in the pit. Michelle is thrown in with them because she protests the treatment.
Desmond will tell us he is a Dharma employee and is the current head of security on the island. If we are really really lucky we'll get a partial explanation for the numbers, something akin to them being a cosmic code of some sort.
The rest of the show will be flashbacks, scenes from last week and commercials.
well the 'others' in the clip may or may not be other survivors. however i dont think ana (michelle) is or has been with them. i think she was on her own and got captured by them same as sawyer, jin, micheal.
and neo, im thankfull they 'spoon feed' us information like that, if they didnt, this show wouldnt be as interesting as it is, and if they give up way too much info, it greatly shortens the shows life span, or they end up doing other stuff cuz they've used up thier main plot.
were only on day 44 in this last episode. should be at around day 90 when the season ends.
There is a screen cap which clearly shows Michelle walking with with them. I doubt they would let her roam around freely with them if she was the enemy.
well clips can be missleading. we'll see.
They can indeed. Sometimes shows will have previews that aren't even scenes that are included in the actual broadcast.

seeing as how the new season has started lets pick this thread back up!
So anyone have any thoughts on the season opener? I thought it was ok in addressing the issues from the finale, but as usual more questions arose.
Atleast we got some sort of answer to where the tattooed shark came from :/
P.S. i got myself a fish biscut! now how did i manage that?

honestly the show would suck if they just handed out answers. i dont know why people complain about questiosn not getting answered (not saying you are, just in general)
The show is about mysteries, thats what makes it interesting. i like putting clues together and solving things like that. i wouldnt like it at all if the answers are just given in 1 show.
as for the first show, it was a very good start to the season. :)

I've been watching Season 1 after buying it on DVD a couple weeks ago. I'm hooked. I'm definitley going to buy Season 2. And I have Tivo recording Season 3.
The only person who annoys me is Hurley. I'm pretty tired of the beach bum lingo. He just walks around pestering people (mostly Jack) and doing worthless sh*t that he thinks is actually helpful. Like creating profiles of everyone in his little notepad.

OMFG. I HATE Ana Lucia. What a f---ing jackass. Thinks she's such a badass. Yeah right. Without the gun, she's nothing. And if were Sayid, I would've taken her back to the camp and imprisoned her. Then when Sawyer gets better, I would have he and Sayid stone her to death.
But I also wouldn't hold it against Sayid to blast the f--- out of her the minute she put the gun on the ground. What a bitch!
lol. i dont know anyone who didnt hate her. (as well as hate her in real life too)
