...Yeah, Burns bog is on fire again. They said once it was on fire for a period of months.

If you dont know Burns Bog is in Delta, British Columbia. It's the largest undeveloped urban landmass in North America. It is apparently the largest raised peat Bog on the West Coast or something like that.

But its on fire again.

I just sort of felt this deserved a thread for some reason.

EDIT: So my buddy came over and I went outside, and its all smokey because of the fire on the bog.

The bog is a ****ton of distance away. Sort of.

My mom also said when she was a teen the bog was on fire for 3 and a half years.

It smells like death. Death and campfire.

Is it true that the unique ecosystem sustains a wide variety of flora and fauna?

Yes but not so much fauna because its ground is kind of acidic, and really literally unstable. You can bounce up and down on it. It's kind of fun. They're mostly birds there.

I went on a university geological survey to the exact area it was burning about 6 months ago, so it's kind of funny and kind of creepy.

On my way home from the campus today, it was really smoggy and I wondered why. I didn't figure out until I got home.

A sign of the apocalypse, no doubt.

I remember once I went to the Bog for a field trip. I almost lost a boot. A knee high gum boot.

Which aspect?

The fact that something rare is on fire, or the fact that its something rare?
