How often do you play? who do you go with?
I think this is a great game, and being free... is a blast to play! But, it is just our park here, or do all disk golf players seem to have a giant baggie of pot to smoke on every other hole?

The words "giant" and "baggie" haven't ever gone together before. Wierd.
And if Im thinking what you're talking about,(Frisbee golf?) thats a joke...I've only seen it at one park in Surrey, I think it was, and 3 of the poles were currently being used to be pissed on by dogs.

To be fair, I wasn't paying much attention to how many people were playing Frisbee Golf, considering I was warming up for a Provincial Soccer game...but it wasnt packed.
I think 3 guys were playing....

Theres a course up by Charles Best Secondary School. I play baseball up there and the course is right beside it, it looked like it got a fair bit of usage.

We should play sometime.

Take the short bus.
And frisbees cost like....next to nothing.

But frolf is what they play in kerokeroking / Ribbit King. And golfing with frogs is way better.
Yes, I've been to one. And my shoes got extremely muddy. There's also one right beside a pitch-and-putt I frequent a lot, but I've never actually gone.

Frisbee golf, frolf, all the same (I think?). I think disc golf is the proper name.
I love disc golf, I wish I played it more often. It gets so hot here and it's hard to keep friends interested enough to go... My two brothers and I all love it, if we lived closer together we'd go more often.
Annnnd, it's a lot of fun. Typhoid, yeah regular frisbees are cheap (even the good ones). But disc golf is played with something more like a disc than a frisbee. They're smaller in diameter and height but much heavier, made of thick rubber or clay or something. Anyway, since most are thin and heavy enough to cause pain when you catch it (at least the long-range and mid-range because they need to cut through the air and sometimes branches), they aren't really used for throwing and catching like a frisbee.
Where was I? Oh, these discs aren't expensive by themselves per se, but since you need at least two or three to play properly (short-, mid-, and long-range), and since they get lost in water traps and trees all the time, the money starts to add up. They cost about $7 each, but they go up to $20 and I guess more if you get really serious. You see a lot of people out there with a small ice chest-type pack out on the course full of 20 or so discs. And their giant baggies.... I usually just bring four or five (depending if I lost some the last time..) and play for fun. Which means I suck. :)
Texas somehow got really big on disc golf. Houston has about 15 courses scattered all over, including a really pretty one downtown, Dallas-Ft. Worth also has about 15, and Austin has several, and those are just the cities I know about. Texas is a closet-hippie-state I guess.

I remember back when our local park got a course. It was pretty popular for awhile, I even played quite a bit for a year or two, but it fizzled out. I dont play anymore.

Wow. I had no idea how popular this was. I never even really saw anyone toss a frisbee around until I entered college...ultimate just blew my mind.
Well, was reminded of this comic:

There's a course at the local park. My friends and I played once. It was pretty unfun. Maybe that was because the course was old, unkept, and on a hill.

pretty popular around here. we try to play once a week or couple of weeks. and yes, we've always commented how how the game is huge pot head game.
sadly tho because of thoes people the course closest to me got closed down, now i have to drive a half hour to get to the next course. which is quite a different style, and they have a pond right in the middle of the 2nd hole. i lost like 3 discs in there since we started. Finally after the 3rd i got sick of it and just dove in, Collected about 30 frisbees. lol. dunno what they cost where everyone else is but here they're about $10 each. so i really did quite good with all i found. :)
