Nintendo of America and Electronic Arts today announced an agreement that will implement Nintendo's All-Star characters - Mario, Luigi, and Peach - into SSX On Tour, EA's upcoming snowboarding title.

“I am extremely proud of our innovative partnership with Nintendo with our EA Sports BIG titles,” said John Schappert, Senior Vice President and General Manager of EA Canada. “Mario, Peach and Luigi are among the greatest videogame characters of all time and we are thrilled to include them in SSX On Tour.”

“When Electronic Arts put a basketball in Mario’s hand, he did quite well,” said Reggie Fils-Aime, executive vice president, sales and marketing, for Nintendo of America Inc. “Now Mario and crew are hitting the slopes thanks to a successful and creative partnership between Nintendo and EA. Mario has traveled in snow before, but never this fast. Let’s hope his mustache doesn’t freeze."

meh, I want my new platformer mario game

eh....just doesn't seem right, SSX w/ Mario.... There's already too many spinoff's with him in it, stealing other sports to put him in won't cut it anymore, new and innovative game types will.


Or as Jonbo said....another platformer'll do it.

Wow...I hope Nintendo provides Mario with free lube, with all of the whoring and whatnot.

Ok this crosses the line. Having them in one game is fine, but now two? Wow.

Putting Mario in SSX won't lure me. They're just going to have to start making games good. Putting a mascot character into a ****ty game doesn't make up for the **** quality of the game.

Well, Gamemaster, SSX3 sure wasn't horrible quality. Several avid industry people can acknowledge that it was a really good game. And it was leagues better than 1080. Mario just migrated to the better game.

the SSX franchise is one of the best new franchises this generation. fact.

SSX tricky kicked ass as well, by no means is the series crappy

Man...I loved both SSX Tricky and SSX 3.

I think putting in these characters woukd cheapen the experience for me.

Thankfully I'll be picking up the Playstation version if I do in fact get it.
