Interesting read, it is. But World of Warcraft didnt revolutionize MMORPG's, the marketing machine that is Blizzard made it popular.

If their character creation system was more indepth, it would be better off in terms of visuals (and less cartoony ;) )

Hey, I like it's cartoony look...

On second thought, I'd rather every single MMORPG look like a big gritty epic LOTR rip-off...

I wasnt trying to say the cartoony look was horrible. It just seems a little weird to me :p

But your right. 97% of the MMO market is the same cookie cutter look/adventure.

I've said before elsewhere but the MMO market is getting WAY too saturated and its only going to get worse before it collapses within itself and only the ones with original ideas will stand a better chance of suviving. Not everyone can afford to pay $10-$15 a month for multiple games. The lesser known ones will fail quikly to the larger games.

Example: RYL. It just came out recently but almost no one is flocking to it, why? Besides the marketing, its brought nothing new to the table from the look of it. Plus, their million dollar PvP contest will probably make the company bankrupt :p
