One of the best musicals in recent memory becomes... a movie.

Whenever I see anything about Rent, all I can think of is the opening sequence to Team America.

"And we all have AIDS!"

Sweet, I love musicals.

That's actually one of my three wishes if I met a genie...that life was a musical.

I had heard that this project was in the making but I had completely forgotten. I will most likely go see it, I think I will like it.
I have sung a few of the songs from that musical in high school so I would like to actually see the whole story.

Musicals can be funny. Like Jesus Christ super star, oh those Romans in the purple tank tops carrying sub-machine guns.

Let's see... a trailer for the film featuring the most overplayed song in the musical, "Seasons of Love" = Lame Movie.

Go see it live as it was meant to be.

Or...read on:

Summary: Impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive in New York's Alphabet City neighborhood under the shadow of AIDS.

jesus christ superstar = the best musical ever made... seen it like 20 times. have the soundtrack, and ted neeley is the man.

Does the RENT movie even have songs in it? I heard it didn't, and saw the trailer during the previews of Guess Who. They had the "how do you measure a year" song, but that's it.

Firstly, yes, Jesus Christ Superstar is the greatest thing ever.

And can you imagine Rent without songs? That would sort of be like making a Grease movie without songs. Or Chicago without songs - it would probably just end up weird if there isn't good people behind it.

If the RENT movie doesn't have songs then it will completely suck, but I would definitely assume that it will. And Jesus Christ Superstar is a good musical, but not the best if you ask me. The best ones I've seen/worked on are probably Les Miserables and West Side Story.

les miserables comes in a close second... the songs are good, but not as good... yeah, story is more in depth and clever, but... songs aren't as good.

Well Jesus Christ Superstar by far had the best movie version. West Side Story's 1960s movie is ok and Les Miz's with Liam Neeson is passable, but nothing like the brilliance of JCS.

The best musical ever made is Guys and Dolls, and don't anyone ever forget it.
