If its $299, thats fine because thats what the "larger" companies charge. Any higher and its too much, IMO.

I think the price is something that they'll withhold.

him and many others I'm sure (excluding mega rich ppl)
Let's look @ the history:-
I payed $799 for my PS
I payed $715 for my Ps2
I will pay $XYZ for my PS3
With that said, the other consoles are quite expensive, but I think Sony has always charged the most with its consoles compared to others......

wow, aussies really get screwed on console prices. Im not familiar with your currency, did you express that as american dollars (approx)?
I think Sony will wait until AFTER Microsoft launches XBox360 before they announce any pricing details. They've been telling publishers that it wont be unlike their other console launch prices ($299, $299) so I would expect $299-$349

Well I was reading an article on CNN that Sony is expecting to lose a margin on the first phase of PS3 launch. Ken Kutaragi said in the article that they are willing to take a loss if they need to underprice the PS3 to match the market.

Nope it's AUD.
If that was american dollars man I'd be bankrupt by now owning all 3 consoles.
I just remember the PS2 and PSX being hella expensive. Xbox launched for something like $500 aud or something? I forgot

Cool stuff. I can't wait for PS3 to come out, since I'll have a bunch of money at that time.

Sony sounds like Microsoft now. "We'll make the price lower to take a hit"

Anywhootles.... the highest price i'm planning to pay for the PS3 would have to be $500. Taking into consideration that I do have a high paying job, but I want to be real and not spend more than $500 on a gaming console. Thats just my opinion.... everyone else may have a lower budget or a higher budget.
This coming generation, I'm planning to get 2 consoles as to not miss outon 80% of the exclusive games that usually come out.
At this point it's Xbox 360 and Ps3... considering I have no idea what the Revolution will do just yet. Originally it was REv and PS3.....we'll have to wait and see. Heck if the prices are low enough I'll end up getting 3 three consoles...

i really think a gamer should decide between either PS3 or XBox 360 because I think they'll offer similar style games.
If was getting 2 consoles (which I doubt) it would probably be one of those two (theres no hiding the fact that I lean towards Playstation until it lets me down) and then Nintendo's offering because it'll offer different and new gaming experiences.

Creepy...but if Factor 5 can produce, I'll start saving to get all 3 consoles then. Factor 5 always knows how to impress visually :D
