This is being toted as one of the must-have DS games, so what does everyone think of it? I'm on the fourth world, and I'm quite pleased with it so far. It's a LOT of fun, and unlike anything I've played (other than Yoshi Touch and Go, but they are still extremely different). I think it's quite the game.
Is it really must-have? It seems these days I'm always suckered into buying action games and then not getting any substance to them.
Like, after you "beat" it, is it a collectathon, or is it actually playing through with different gameplay?
Is it Kirby: Superstar (re: SNES) caliber?

I've heard good things abuot it. Thinking about grabbing it. I really really disliked how Yoshi Touch and Go turned out. It felt too much like a tech demo instead of a real game.

This Kirby game kind of makes me wish I had a DS.

I haven't played all the way through the game, but it seems like it's well worth it. It isn't a collectathon AT ALL, because the only things to collect are medals, and there's only one in each stage. Then, you cash in these medals for additional sound tests, special features, or levels to use in the Time Trial/Line Trial modes.
Read some reviews on it to find out more.

You dont actually cash in the medals for The time/line trial modes. You have access to the trial modes for a particular level as soon as you beat that level. Then if you do good enough in the line/time trial modes, you get more medals which can be used to unlock different types of line ink, more playable characters, sound tests of the music for the game, and stuff like that. I think its a fun game, but I dont think it is a "Must have", and I wouldnt myself have gave it a 9.0 as IGN did. More like an 8.0. While it is at times quite challenging, it still wasnt long enough, and I really dont think an extra type of line is enough incenitive for going through and collecting all those medals. At the very least, no other console on the planet could even come close to replicating this game, which is at least something...

I was referring to the bonus levels you can unlock (like the Missile level, etc).
Sorry for the confusion.
